Our NSC 134: Your Sound NF winner is................

Kyu Sakamoto
ASHITA GA ARUSA

Yet another totally unexpected result for me personally  The song I thought would bomb has won almost every single time in these NFs.
My terrible predictions as always
Thanks so much for voting! Enjoy this slice of 1960s Japan

NSC 134

坂本 九 ~ Kyu Sakamoto
Ashita ga Arusa ~ 明日があるさ ~ There's Always Tomorrow

Kyu Sakamoto performing 'Ashita ga Arusa' a little later in 1977.

Kyu Sakamoto - Ashita ga Arusa (There's Always Tomorrow)

Last edition, we sent a Japanese classic from distant 1963. Kyu Sakamoto was a fresh-faced young singer from the 60s who brought Japanese music to the international scene with his later hit 'Ue o muite arukou', known in English as 'Sukiyaki'. His popularity grew in Japan as a beloved celebrity in the 70s and 80s, but was tragically cut short in an unexpected way.

Kyu was on board the infamous Japan Airlines Flight 123 crash of 1985, which is still one of the deadliest air crashes to date. In light of this, his upbeat homage to procrastination suddenly takes a rather different note... (but don't worry, zombie Sakamoto was still able to make it to Calypso to perform in the semifinals!)

NSC 135 National Final

The time is approaching, ladies and gentlemen.
With a new life and busy times on the way, I've decided that this will be the last Your Sound NF of this series, and the last Yaponesian NF (for the timebeing... expect a revival soon!) As NSC 135 is the 130th edition since Yaponesia's debut, we're holding an extra special supersized 'Your Sound' featuring all the previous runners-up battling it out with their six songs, a lineup also reminiscent of our classic 'Ready to Go' NFs of the distant past.

So, for this edition more than ever, please join us by sending us your votes and your voting systems. Hey look, this edition we're even updating the poll for ya. Thanks all for these fun seven editions of 'Your Sound' xcheer1

YOUR VOTING
 1. PM me takeru a score (/100) for each song, with ties broken.
 2. Post your voting system in this thread
 3. The detailed procedure from my first post is here
 4. I will reproportion all systems for the sake of fairness
 5. A poll is now open, so you can optionally vote for your favourite there as well (but PMvoting is the main method)!
DEADLINE: 28/04/16 23:59 CEST

I think (/hope) there's something for everyone here :p Thanks for all your support these past few NFs. Let's make this one the biggest turnout yet xlove

Re: YAPONESIA: Your Sound Finale ~ NSC 135 Second-Chance NF

The number of vowels in the name of the artist is subtracted from the number of consonants in it. The result is added to the initial score.

Then, the number of vowels in the username of the person sending their votes is subtracted from the number of consonants in it. 0.5 is added to the result. The score from above is then multiplied by this number.

At the end, the final scores of the song with the most votes in the poll and the song with the fewest votes in the poll are swapped.

Take the average of the score given by that person in this NF and the score given in the other NF the song was in. If they didn't vote in the other NF, just use the score given this time. Then apply my usual system.

Re: YAPONESIA: Your Sound Finale ~ NSC 135 Second-Chance NF

NF is closed and entry is confirmed!
Not sure if Orian is gonna post here so I'll copypaste his system as written on skype:

dogmeat said:
[18:16:01 | Edited 18:16:38] Orian: Score=Score*((Number of posts the voting country's owner has in Yaponesia's thread)+(Number of posts Yaponesia's owner has in the voting country's thread))
[18:16:39] Orian: now
[18:17:43] Orian: exclude Yaponesia's votes there
[18:19:18] Orian: or not, for Yaponesia's votes count o.yes.nipaa's posts instead of takeru's

Results beginning shortly xcheer1

Re: YAPONESIA: Your Sound Finale ~ NSC 135 Second-Chance NF

OK, let's make this a simple results countdown from last to first for once!
Starting with our 6th, and therefore last-placer:

6TH PLACE

04
from 'Your Sound' NSC 132

Vi Hart - Shepard Tones

Scoreboard06.png

N/B: The left side is unproportioned, while the right side is reproportioned (and therefore the final score that counts).
Raw scores, poll scores and old scores are also included on the left scoreboard, but they only count for certain systems (see people's posts above).
