For delegations travelling straight from Newcastle you will have to face a 53 hour flight duration from Manchester that contains 3 stops

Although there used to be a 1 stop link Manchester- Helsinki - Chongqing

53 hours omg.

Wouldn't they be better off staying on the train from Newcastle to London and flying from Heathrow or something?

Although you could do it more quickly for less from Newcastle... https://www.skyscanner.net/transpor...cts=false&preferflexible=false&ref=home&rtn=0
Only 31 hours!
Working as a long haul tour operator, I'd strongly advise against this option. Skyscanner will basically smush together every cheapest flight ticket in the market and link them consecutively, but for that journey you will need to check in separately for each individual sector and potentially reclaim your baggage at each transfer airport, meaning you aren't protected if a flight is delayed and you miss your connection.

Contact a reputable travel agent or tour operator for expert help and protection #savethetravelindustry #bookonlineatyourownrisk

Best of luck Charly with the hosting - hope there's time to do a Yangtze River cruise during our time out in Chongqing xpray

The weather in Chongqing is Hot and can be very humid! Don't forget to bring a umbrella to protect yourself from the sun (it can rain a lot too)

Well that sounds simply awful. I'll stick to my air condition hotel room then.

Why not take a day out visit to Chengdu to visit the Panda Base home to the research and caring of the Giant Panda & Red Pandas! Only a 1 hour train ride via the worlds fastest train network boarding the Fuxing train that will average of 350 km/h. Just make sure to not bring any flammable stuff such as deodrant spray as each train station have a aiport style security clearence and passport / ID control.

Another day and a new thing!

If your university is linked with the CI there is a huge chance you would be offered a 2 week trip to Chongqing which is packed with so many activites etc! https://international.cqnu.edu.cn/info/1266/1237.htm

CNU is quite an interesting university that heavily focuses on foreign student exchanges but also well known for its training of teachers hence the big link with my own at EHU. The campus is quite stunning and large filled with several venues to eat at and for each venue it contains over 10 or more food canteens to choose 1 from a sushi canteen to a bulgogi specialist, xiao mian and traditional congee (rice soup with chicken bones but super tasty). The campus is that large so they actually provide tuk-tuks to get 1 place to another!

The big building in the campus is actually the main library!

So exciting that we're going to beautiful Chongqing. It looks like something out of Cyberpunk. Gorgeous neon drenched fantasy. Good luck team China! I know you'll knock this out the park xyes
