After having the taste of saltiness of having my favorites not qualifying, this idea pops out on my head. What do you think of having a 27th entry in the finals. It will be called "World's choice" Its going to be a wild card entry picked from the eliminated entries to be voted by Non ebu/withdrawn European countries and also voted by non European countries. So the audience outside Europe can finally feel some participation. I mean the Australians and the Chinese actually loves Eurovision.

After the 2nd semifinal, there will be an online overnight voting from Asia Pacific, Africa, The Americas and Non Ebu/European countries that didnt participate in Eurovision. The one that gets the highest vote will be counted as the World's choice and will have a slot in the grand finals.
An additional 3 minutes is not that bad right?

Positives:

1.The traffic from outside the ebu countries will be additional money for Eurovision.
2.Non Ebu fans will feel they participated
3. A good non qualifying song may have a chance

---------
negatives

1.Lets say we have a participant who is an immigrant from a high population non ebu country......

2.A bad non qualifying song may qualify

I noticed Crisalide is popular among Latinos (base on youtube comments).....It would have been the world's choice if we have that option..... :(

I don't think so. The contest has got a great international fanbase, yeah, but I don't think that they should have this vote. For one thing, the contest is hours and hours behind/ahead for some people. It's a contest for the members of the EBU, and the EBU only. Also counting the votes would be a massive hassle. Let's take China as an example. Like you could have a couple of million people voting in the likes of Shanghai and Beijing and Chongqing, but then you could also have say a few hundred voting in Tibet or only a couple of people voting in Xinjiang. And this problem would be an enormous havoc on an international level. How would you go about counting and verifying each vote from all over the planet, from the millions of Canadian and American votes to perhaps just the only person voting in Turks and Caicos or something like that. Logistically it's a nightmare.

I like that idea!! I don't think it will be a nightmare.

Two possible ways to solve the problem:

(1) Overseas voting may start right after all the songs are selected (in March or early April and end right before the competition starts), this may give a-month-or-two time for the regions to do vote counting. And it also make the participant broadcasters see more importance on the stage performance of their own selection, as this leaves no time for them to modify their entry after selected.
(2) Every edition we have a special guest country out of EBU to obtain the right of voting.

And moreover, I don't quite understand the reason of yours to allow everyone to vote 20 times. I think only just we have a rule that every SIM user can only vote for 1 time and for their favorite song can we decrease the difficulty of vote counting. Also, I think you can keep on voting 20 times per user and let the guest country vote only once.

I wonder how an Andra Chansen round would work at the ESC, I know it would require some of the eliminated semifinal songs

If there was a second chance round, have the eliminated semifinalists perform one more time, and let the people decide via a 100% televote - no juries.
