We'd like to share some facts about Svobodnia that gonna break the 4th wall:

• The country of Svobodnia was made up around the city of Svobodnetsk (its capital), which was also made up around its metro system I've been imagining in my childhood.

• Considering the fact above, the name of Svobodnia also comes from Svobodnetsk, which in turn comes from Russian word "svoboda" (freedom) + "tsk" (a common ending for Eastern Slavic cities). As a child, I didn't really put anything deep into that, it's just what felt right at the moment.

• The flag of Svobodnia was inspired by a metro train that was converted into a locomotive with the same color scheme.

Also, I'd like to give canonical versions of the facts that broke the 4th wall:

Note: Svobodnia exists in different dimensions: on the real world map and on the NSC map.

• The country of Svobodnia was founded around the city of Svobodnetsk (its capital, which is around 1150 years old), this place was inhabited by Svobs, Slavic tribes who have been calling themselves "free people".

• The flag of Svobodnia consists of white, dark blue and light blue stripes. White represents pure intentions, honesty, kindness, compassion, grace, peacefulness, calmness of Svobodnian people. Dark blue represents Svobodnian natural resources, such as blue grapes, blue plums, blue figs, fish. And light blue represents the sea (Caspian sea in case of real world map; in case of NSC map, there is also the sea that surrounds Svobodnia) which always has been an essential part of Svobodnian natural spirit, and has influenced a lot of aspects of our country. Those colors are the national colors, they can be founded in or folk costumes or national embroidery patterns.

Emilie is a talented indie pop singer-songwriter who plays the harp. She prequalified for the NSC 231 Final and performed "Island"; however, she finished last with 41 points. We were sad for Emilie, but we still love her. She is truly an idol in Marcobia. Therefore, we give her the opportunity to present our votes.

After our first quarter of results received, all participants have now received points – congratulations! Svobodnia and Afnia have been swapping for 1st place in the standings and so far the 12 points scores have been given to 4 different nations. Will these trends continue? After a run of results which saw Kimmystan take the lead and hold on to it for a short while, Svobodnia returns to the top of the leaderboard as we reach the halfway stage in tonight's results. However, it is still all to play for with just 12 points separating the top 9 countries! Let's progress with the second half of our voting as we edge closer to finding out who will be victorious
