My preferred winners by year (
in bold: if it was the actual winner in that given year) and what I think about the actual winners.
50's:
1956:
Switzerland (Refrain) (however,
"Il est la" would have been a deserving winner aswell)
1957:
Netherlands
1958:
Sweden (I don't think the winner
deserved to win,
would have also been a deserving winner this year aswell)
1959:
Switzerland (While I don't think the winner
was totally undeserved, I would have preferred another winner).
60's:

Norway (I don't think the winner
deserved to win, annoying stupid song).
1961:
Yugoslavia (I don't think

Luxembourg (while
wasn't an undeserving winner this year perhaps, there were better songs, so yup slightly undeserved).
1968:
Sweden (
was a very undeserving winner this year - useless song,
would have also been a deserving winner)
1969:
Italy (Messy year with 4 winners, with
ending up being the "winner of the winners" considering they were chosen to host it the next year. According to current rules
would have been the actual winner this year. Personally I would have agreed with this aswell. Out of the 4 winners, I think
indeed was the only deserving one while I do like the
entry aswell. I don't think either

entries this year, that were among the 4 winners, deserved to win).
70's:
1970:
UK (I don't think
deserved to win this year, way too cute for my taste although I somehow get the appeal.

Yugoslavia (
deserved to win this year, although it wasn't my personal favorite this year and I find it a bit overrated amongst the oldies in general in here, although I get the universal appeal).
1972:
Ireland (I don't think
deserved to win this year, find the song annoying to be frank and don't get the universal praise for it.
sent it's first and only song in Irish to date, which was also a very nice entry.

Israel (While I understand Luxembourg's win this year, I still think there were a handful of more deserving songs. If not

deserved to win this year, I find the song quite boring and monotone with the same melody being repeated all over for 3 minutes).

Austria (While I get the appeal of the
entry, just as the previous year I found it a bit too silly for my taste. Undeserving win? Not really, but not even in my top. 5).
1986:
Yugoslavia (
didn't deserve to win, a silly song with an annoying act).
1987:
Germany (I actually don't think
deserved to win this year, although I get the win and it's in my top. 10 this year... oh well, maybe a little deserving afterall).
1988:
Sweden (Contrary to popular opinion I don't like this Celine Dion song at all and I think it was an undeserved win, if I had to choose a French female ballad deserving to win this year it had to be Lara Fabian's "Croire" for

1989:
Austria (While I have
in my top. 10 this year, I don't really think it deserved to win since there were better options. Also I would have preferred Yugoslavia to win another year than this one, since they had better entries previously).

Belgium (I don't think Italy deserved to win at all this year, bad song.

winning entry this year more than the previous ones, I still think this was yet another undeserved win for Ireland, especially since there were a handful of way stronger entries.

UK (another undeserving win for
this year, maybe the least deserving out of all Irish wins to date. UK hade the "it" song this year which also proved to be the only entry this year with a life after the contest, the juries scr*ewd over commercial relevance for the contest ones again).
1997:
Turkey (an undeserving win for
this year. Not a bad song, but dated and quite uninteresting.

1998:
Croatia (But I totally think
deserved to win this year).
1999:
Croatia (I don't think
deserved to win this year,
was a stand-out entry in this years edition for me and should have won without doubt).
00's:
2000:
Russia (
had a pretty ok entry, but I would have preferred another entry and the Danish one is plagiarism).
2001:
Greece (Greece deserved to win this year, a stand-out entry imo.

Croatia (Pretty weak year, the entry deserving the most to win this year was
