(Rewriting this post as I deleted it in a moment of darkness in my mind XD)

I studied History, but if I could go back to university I'd study (apart from History) either something related with Historical Archives or something about forensic archaeology. I love knowing details of people who lived in this world before us just by analyzing what they left (documents or bones). I like economics too, that would be another very different option.

If you could go back to uni, would you study the same? If not, what would you do?

I don't know... I studied History because I enjoy history, I wanted to go to university to study something I enjoyed, no other reason. If I'm honest I think you probably have the best prospects (unless you study a profession like medicine, vetinary medicine, nursing, etc) if you leave school and do an apprenticeship, but I am glad I decided to go.

At the time I was also interested in studying Politics, but I am glad I opted for History instead. I took some Archaeology modules and figured it wasn't my thing lol.

My knowledge of them is pretty amateur but I have always found Paleontology and especially Astronomy to be interesting too. They would be fun to study I think.

I am most interested in economics. After I got involved in crypto trading, I really feel unconfident because I am not that good an fundamental analysis of the market so I just have to rely on things like crypto telegram groups and other people predictions which isn't the most convenient choice.

I study law and looking back I really regret my choice because it turned out to be very boding. This is filled with many writing services and I have even read grab my essay review. I am in despair and I want to break free.

Same here dude! I am currently studying programming also. I have not finished the Basic one... :giggle: but I don't want my kid to become a programmer, that is boring :) I want him to be a physicist. I buy hime these kit by MELScience. They are very impressive and versatile with different experiments like hydrophobic sand, vacuum chambers, laser lightning etc. If you have children I highly recommend to subscribe to their site.
I would also study programming. That is a very profitable thing and you can do coding from anywhere which is especially great taking into account that you can travel around the world not bound to your working place. But coding is a difficult thing and not everyone is capable of that.

I'd always wanted to become a Maths teacher but I eventually ended up studying IT and landing a Java developer job (luckily for all the poor kids... ;) ).

Tbh, this can be a very soul crushing and difficult job if you are in it mainly for the money. To become a successful developer, you really have to love what you do and have extreme patience. It's ok if it's mentally hard but you also have to get some enjoyment from the process, otherwise save yourself the pain and risk of burnout, threat of ageism and the omnipresent impostor syndrome. I don't complain, I enjoy the work so far, but I doubt I'll be able to do it for the rest of my working life.

If you do like programming and it's a huge passion for you... You can achieve amazing things and the sky is the limit.

I have studied literature long time ago, and I wthink I wouldn't want to change it, but I also would love to study art. It's my passion (oil painting, mostly abstract art) and would love to teach it at school. :)

I agree that programming is one of the best spheres to improve your skills. You can easily get a job because it's really popular and relevant nowadays. But unfortunately, programming is not for me at all. I see many vacancies for IT specialists on this platform, so I wish I could apply for at least one of them.

I studied applied linguistics (English &Spanish) at the University of Warsaw, but if I had time now, I would definitely pick Modern Greek language&literature at that same uni.
But if I was born again, I would be born at least half-Greek and speak Greek as one of my two native languages and I would study at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Modern Greek philology as well.

would go for computer science/data science again

might skip linguistics (to graduate earlier and have 1-2 years more opportunity to earn money). on the other hand it could give me a leg up when applying for a phd in the nlp/machine translation/computational linguistics domain so not sure

Greek is very melodic, my opinion :) I would learn it with pleasure someday in the future :) but my linguistic obsession is the Spanish language. I am not very good at languages but if I could choose what the study 24/7 at university that would definitely be Spanish :)
