Sometimes I know my fire burns low
But as long as you're with me I'll never get cold
'Til day and night, 'til darkness and light
I never worry when you're by my side

Oh, feelings change and seasons fade
But nothing will burn us out
Nothing can stop us now

Out of the embers
You and I are gonna light up the room (Yeah, you and I gonna light up the room)
Out of the embers
There's a fire burning for you (Yeah, there's a fire burning for you)
I feel the heat here
There's still a chance for us
Down herе in the ashes, yeah, thеre's something growing
Out of the embers
You and I are gonna light up the room (Yeah, you and I gonna light)

Light up the room
Light up the room

You and me forever, we're free
We're cool under pressure, and that's all we need
So take my hand, and forget the past
We're in this together, there's no looking back

Oh, feelings change and seasons fade
But nothing will burn us out
Nothing can stop us now

Out of the embers
You and I are gonna light up the room (Yeah, you and I gonna light up the room)
Out of the embers
There's a fire burning for you (Yeah, there's a fire burning for you)
I feel the heat here
There's still a chance for us
Down here in the ashes, yeah, there's something growing
Out of the embers
You and I are gonna light up the room (Yeah, you and I gonna light)

Light up the room

Out of the embers
You and I are gonna light up the room (Yeah, you and I gonna light up the room)
Out of the embers
You and I are gonna light up the room (Yeah, you and I gonna light up the room)

I'm curious to see what the UK has to offer this year. I've been listening to James Newman's music this year and it's not bad at all, I hope his efforts get reflected in a great song.

However it's gonna be difficult the UK sweeps either juries or televoting unless an extremely good song comes out. It's sad but their popularity throughout Europe, or at least what I've seen or heard here in Spain, has decreased with all this shitty Brexit situation. Politics aside, I'm anxious to see the UK do well in Eurovision (as it seems my country is unable to bring good music to the contest) and exploit the great musical industry they currently have. It's time to get the Big 5 back in the game.

I think Israel winning was enough on its own to prove that this really plays no significant role. Russia is also hated across Europe and always does well.

We're going to run out of inspirational 'sounds like a winner' titles soon

It's ok, they'll just cycle back around to the start.

Seems that a few of the comments in that twitter post have mentioned that it might be his postcard that he was filming as apparently that was happening this week?

So maybe the music video is already done? xshrug

I feel all this hyping up and teasing James is doing could backfire. By raising expectations too much you're setting yourself up to potentially crash. Just give the release date and song name several days in advance and then the excitement will build more naturally.

Haven't they heard that by dropping the song out of nowhere is the best way to surprise people and create hype?
I mean Beyonce and Taylor Swift didn't do that for no reasons.

To be fair they dropped his announcement for this year out of nowhere with zero build up or teasing so I imagine the song will be much the same. Like, there is no attempt by the beeb to build hype. Its all Newman who is doing it and understandably so as its his song and I'd expect that of just about any artist going to do that.

I mean it is really astounding just how little the BBC has done to build all of this up. I know that the BBC has a fairly loose attitude towards Eurovision but this is silly!

Starting to think we’ll get a random heads-up the night before the song is played on Radio 1/2 the next day... or it’ll just drop out of nowhere... Charts compile Fridays so a Saturday drop would maximise chart impact (I think?)... so maybe it’ll be on the last day...

If we're looking back, Lesley Roy did basically the same while RTE sat and enjoyed their morning beer. I wish BBC were more enthusiastic as they're a pre-qualifier, though. It's not giving me secondhand embarrassment, but please, BBC.

This year's Eurovision becoming very nicely poised for us to sweep in with a record breaking song xheat

I'm tempted to put a bet on while we're in the gutter with the odds.

I dunno, only way this will be a record breaker is if someone literally drops the record version of the single on the ground.

No hype from BBC, and then BOOM. A total banger. It's a scenario too wild for BBC.
We only seem to have one contemporary pop banger so far this year (Cyprus)... If James does have a bop, could the UK be on for its best result in decades by default!?

Time will tell.

I wonder if the BBC is stepping back a bit and just letting the label/artist do their stuff... We’ll have a random drop and then label-based PR... might not be a bad thing!
