Dua Lipa's new song would be an IDEAL Eurovision entry in a perfect world... if only we could've convinced her to save it for March and go all out... sigh...
Love Dua, but luv yeh really want t h i s representing you?

I think we need to send a Bedingfield sister, preferably Nikola Rachelle Bedingfield.

LastDreamer I need your opinion here.

lavieenrose I would also accept this Bedingfield sibling too. His 2001 hit Gotta Get Thru This is a UK Garage classic, recently covered in fact on DJ Spoony's Classical Garage tribute album, which also features the original Sugababes lineup with their rendition of Flowers by Sweet Female Attitude.

I agree with everything, especially this memorable rendition from Top of the Pops.

you know, with a record label involved, every british at 3:00 in length has me intrigued.

Could you imagine the BBC internally picking an x Factor contestant? Hell yes.

But with this song? :

I know I would be happy if it was. But it's far from the profile of a BBC entry.

She seems to be working on new music according to the Insta captions, but it is soo unclear we don't know if #Foxes2020 is even going to happen.

yesterday before i went to sleep, i reminded myself that mentioning 2003 in the uk thread as something positive is a bad idea..

what i actually meant in my post above is spain and croatia 2003:lol:

Ok, pint of salt time. There are a couple of rumours on Twitter about the UK entry.

The first is about a possible performer:

@_jackisinnocent

OK ESC peeps I might have to delete this BUT:The same guy who told me that Jordan Clarke was shortlisted last year told me that the BBC have shortlisted Ronan Parke for 2020. Came 2nd on BGT in 2011.

I can see it tbh. Maybe crafting a ballad? He released this Xmas song in 2018

The second rumour is regarding BMG and possible songwriters (and perhaps performers too) and comes from @UKESCUpdate

BMG and the BBC are keen to get a few artists on board whether the ultimate ending being a songwriter or a performer they are keen to have the following people involved in Eurovision 2020.

They followed it up with this:

1. Katea
Example Song:

Katea has proven to write songs that have chart potential and Eurovision-esque feeling. The BBC have been in contact with Katea in regards to her songwriting for a BRITISH artist.

I'm still thinking why Laura Mvula hasn't been selected yet.

I heard from a friend who works for the BBC that Martine Mccuntcheon is in talks to record a 3:00 track that has a "Eurovision vibe"...
