The longlist of 15 performers will be formed by July 25. They will study at "school" where 3 music industry representatives will be their teachers. They will be shortlisted to 6 finalists.

Participants can submit more than one song and even a demo (it will be upgraded in the studio).
Those without own songs can submit 2 covers. The music producer will create a song for each finalist who submitted a cover.

Tarabarova became the music producer of Vidbir Junior for the 2nd time. Last year her song won, btw. She wrote & distributed songs basing on each child's personality and what they want to say, after meeting and spending some time with them.
Participants with their own songs can switch to a song written by the music producer.

The NF will take place in September. Performances will be pre-recorded for safety reasons.

Suspilne revealed the longlist, 15 performers:

There's obvious top-5 for me:

Anastasia Belibova (last year's finalist)

Vlada K, she has already performed in a duo with MamaRika:

Zlata Solo, she performed with Julia Sanina (The Hardkiss, Eurovision 2023 host).

Sofia Nersesian will probably bring ethno:

Daryna Vitsan:

Anna Doyna (wasn't shortlisted last year):

The 6th one will be a boy. My choice would be Artem Kotenko from last year's longlist. Goofy, flamboyant, strong personality, go gurl :D But they will probably choose ILKO.

Starlight Rental gonna be helping Suspilne with Junior Vidbir production this year! (well technically declaration of the winner is scheduled for tomorrow, but Starlight is a sole participant in production tender )
previously they were part of a team which produced adult Vidbir 2016-2020, 2023 and they leased equipment to Friends production for Vidbir 2022

Update:Suspilne rejected Starlight Rental bid due to lack of required documentation
Update 2: production tender has been relaunched
Update 3:welp relaunched tender had no proposals so it looks like Suspilne will have to produce Junior Vidbir on their own :censored:

Thank lord at least something good from this selection. I was disappointed by longlist auditions. All faves performed worse than expected, imo. The jury liked Sofia Nersesian veeeery much, but I'm not impressed with that performance at all, it's way beneath her level. They showed Vlada K like for 15 seconds (wtf). Artem Kotenko chose a cover... female ballad that doesn't suit him at all and damn those vocals were screamy. Anna Doyna performed awful song and bombed (the jury asked her to perform another song and still left unimpressed). Daryna Vitsan was ok, but she won't win. Belibova delivered worse song than last year, wondering if she qualifies for the final at all. 2 girls had a nervous breakdown and their parents tried to calm them down right on stage (mess!). Overall, it was weird auditions and disappointing. My only hope is Vlada K.

The top-10:
photo-2024-09-01-18-08-02.jpg

Vlada K didn't qualify for the top-10 o_O Shame, because she had a nice song. But she really bombed the choreo.
I kinda cheer for Sofia Nersesian, too bad she can't communicate with adults without having her parents near. Now I think the whole thing became super unpredictable and everything will depend of songs. Last year I was surprised by kids in the final whom I didn't even expect to qualifyxlove

Also cheering for Artem Kotenko. Imo, Tarabarova can give him something uptempo.
I'm cracking up at Maria Blyzniuk's personality  Fiinka junior hred
Lord pls give a good song to Anna Doyna.

Update:Suspilne rejected Starlight Rental bid due to lack of required documentation
Update 2: production tender had heen relaunched
Did (not) expect such mess from Starlight.

After seeing live performances:

1. Artem Kotenko hred
2. Zlata Ivaniv hred
3. Anastasia Belibova hyellow didn't sound convincing enough live, imo. Also, 1-word-chorus always puts me off xshrug
4. Illya Konovchenko hyellow seemed "disconnected" from the audience/camera. It's like he's fully concentrated on how to sing it well and he doesn't feel the song at all. At times he seemed lost. The song is too American but even there funk wave is long gone (bye Bruno Mars).
5. Angelina Hlogus hblue - people (her parents) who style her like 50-years-old woman and do such makup should be fired xgiggle The song was so-so to begin with, but it looked better on video than live. Hopefully, she will gather herself for the final.

6. Veronika Kogan hblack - probably, the only flop song in this selection

Judging by newly created junior vidbir tender plan available on Prozorro Suspilne seemingly intends to finally greenlight Starlight rentals previously rejected bid as the budget on this plan exactly mirrors starlight's purposed price for junior vidbir support

Veronika Kogan really surprised me o_O My #3.
I was torn between Zlata and Artem, but I didn't like her clothes (thought it would be more ethno) and dancers (choreo). Artem exceeded my expectations xlove I was moved when dancers started to assemble "house" around him xcry

Just been watching Zlata Ivaniv's music video, Namisto (Necklace), I think she’s the new Kate Bush!
Shame she didn't win, her impressive vocal range, volume and moves remind me of Kate Bush when she exploded onto the music scene with Wuthering Heights at age 19.
