Quédate esta noche para ver amanecer
Para sentir tu voz acariciándome
Quédate un segundo más
No hay nada que perder
Mientras dibujo un mar
De memorias en tu piel

He bajado el cielo para descubrir
Que se esconde en tu mirada
Sólo a unos centímetros de mi

Voy a quedarme y prometo
Quererte más que ayer
Voy a besarte muy lento
Como la primera vez
Y dejar atrás el miedo
Con ti alma entre mis dedos quédate
Porque yo voy a quedarme

Se que hay muchos como yo
Con tanto que ofrecer
Pero juro que este amor
Nadie lo podrá vencer
Y aunque nuestro baile diera
Un paso marcha atrás
No te preocupes yo
Contigo siempre bailaré
Pre-Estribillo
Qué más da si el mundo se derrumba hoy
O que pasará mañana
Que yo de tu lado no me voy

Voy a quedarme y prometo

I usually don't like (e)Spanish entries including last year's song but this one is well composed. For me it's the best ballad of 2021 at the moment. Bulgaria is close but not yet there. Austria lost me.

I am a bit afraid to say it out loud with the overall reaction being so bad, but Spain in currently my number #3 of the year. They are not reinventing the wheel but it is a very well executed approach on a classic type of a eurovision entry. The staging and live performance really elevates the song. And then with the addition of the grandparent theme in the video (which feels honest and not desperate) it seals the deal with me. I am clinging to the hope that this will manage a mid-table finish against the odds.

Did someone post already the snippet from the english version? Does anybody know if he will sing the english version at ESC? Sounds even more terrible ...

I read in an interview that he is doing an english version, dreams of doing a french version - but that he want to defend his country in their own language.
I guess that means putting in some english sentences ....sigh... :(

I would prefer this entry to stay as it is fully in Spanish, but surely some of the lukewarm feedback have reached them and them being so low in odds etc. so maybe that's why they are trying to 'amp up' this entry somehow but it is to no avail. The song is absolutely fine as some radio-friendly song for Spanish radio, but not all that good for the Eurovision. It is too boring to stand out, no matter the language etc.

A-lister's review:

Another pointless entry from Spain and Blas, although it's a bit better than his previous entry I must say but all in all a highly bland and forgettable ballad. I am not sure there's much more to add here, welcome to my bottom 10 again.

Blas has filmed a music video for the English version of the song, under the title "I'll Stay".
It will serve as a promotional purpose, trying to reach the international audience with the English version.

THE GOOD:
  • I like how the song progresses, despite its short length.
  • The vocals are pretty good, too.
THE BAD:
  • A nitpick, yes, but a song like this does not need futuristic sounds.
THE VERDICT:

Well, I think we have our "Children of the Future" clone here, and it might do just about as well as that song did. While I don't think it'll win, this will be a good if not really all that ground-breaking effort by Spain. 8 points

Blas Cantó - Voy A Quedarme - Spain

Hmmm, the begining of this song makes me skip it, it's a little bit boring, but honestly, I don't really have an opinion about this song. It is nothing special, but it's not bad at all. The end is the best part, I hope he'll hit all the notes.

Spain got very positive reactions in the reaction video of the official German Eurovision channel:

Was a bit surprised :-)
