Thank you all once again for the support for vulnerable but fierce retro disco Miley! When I heard it for the first time on radio I did not even thought it's Miley but the country-ish vibes gave it away in the end (that and Shazam, thx bish).
I am not sure yet what to send next edition, but it has to be something worthy of a city like Mecca.
Thank you so much for all the points received this edition! It's been such a ride.
Y'all did not want your wigs to be snatched in the Final of Mecca and that's fine, we had a lot of fun in all the shops and we arrived back in Texas with a new set of hijabs.
For WV 133 we do not need to travel much, half a country at most. Our next representative will be from the iconic state of
Before releasing their third studio album, the singing sisters were struggling to stay afloat in the music industry, having been dropped from their record label and nearly going bankrupt. The experienced formed the basis of many of their new songs, including "Mississippi," about a dominating father willing to kill anyone who tries to take away his daughter. Laura Rogers, the duo's primary lyricist, tells American Songwriter: "In 'Mississippi,' the murder ballad, the father figure thinks he has good intentions and the daughter is unsure of herself. That story isn't based on our father, but on two young women working in a business dominated by powerful older men."
The points above the bar are points received in the Final and the points below are the ones received in Semi
Thank you so much for voting for the Secret Sisters in this climactic edition hosted in a small town in Georgia! I've been meaning to send these two talented girls in NSC for years, 'Mississippi' stood in playlist for literal years (since 2017-8 or so). I honestly did not know what to expect as I've missed the Live Listening and I had no idea who will like it overall. Qualifying was a pleasant surprise on its own but achieving a top 15 results sounds like a December miracle.
Next edition, the artist who will graciously represent us on the icy wet shores of Wales hails from the state of...
Thank you all who appreciated and voted for our little Gen Z star Lindsey Lomis, sadly her journey in WorldVision ended with a bottom 3 result, which is not exactly what I had in mind, I honestly thought she would vibe with more people, but oh well, at least we qualified!
For the second round of Wales I have many ideas in mind, another female singer, something on the right side of the WV musical spectrum, a left-wing bop or something completely entirely different .
This edition we picked the country music sensation Kip Moore, who will fly the SUSA flag high in the lil' city of Drammen. Hailing from the state of Georgia, he has charted a total of twelve entries on Billboard Hot Country Songs and Country Airplay. "How High" is not his usual style however, being just a sweet and nostalgic song about love, life and how every moment is precious.
