Well, I can't find the 2024 general discussion thread yet. I'm providing a thread to house it before mods will make one.

You may discuss anything related to the 2024 contest in general.

Ok,i don't know much about eurovision because i only knew about eurovision in the end of 2022 and started watching in 2023,and i just began to watch because i really liked the concept of multiple countries competing in a contest with songs,so i don't care about these things and i didn't know about this,but i still liked the song

But i think it didn't deserved the first place,not even top three,i just liked the song,but i liked honestly and ylivoimainen way more

It's becoming more expensive for a country to participate in Eurovision.

The Irish Head of Delegation has stated that participation fees for the Eurovision Song Contest will be increasing again according to the EBU.

I honestly don't get it... Russia is not there anymore, Europe faces a war in Ukraine, inflation and we just experienced a pandemic.
The EBU should have tried to scale down the contest instead of continue increasing the participation fees for a consecutive year.

Personally, I think it will take a bit longer this year due to the Israeli/Gaza, Azerbaijan deoccupying Karabakh (and thousands of Armenians having/deciding to flee) and Ukraine wars, the rising costs (and countries like North Macedonia, Romania still figuring out how to take part or getting convinced by the EBU).
