Don't you have sometimes the feeling, that a country really deserved the win, given their track record in Eurovision, but then ends up winning with a song, that does not really excite you, but you are still happy for the country?

Or a country just won, and a few years later comes up with a song that would have been so much better, but you would not have wanted this country let have victory due to recency bias?

Here are my examples of the last 25,000 years of Eurovision

I would swap :se: 1999 with :se: 2004

I would swap :dk: 2000 with :dk: 2001

I would swap :lv: 2002 with :lv: 2005 or :lv: 2000

I would swap :ee: 2001 with :ee: 2002

I would swap :gr: 2005 with :gr: 2007

I would swap :fi: 2006 with :fi: 2009

I would swap :ru: 2008 with :ru: 2006

I would swap :de: 2010 with :de: 2011

I would swap :at: 2014 with :at: 2016

I would swap :se: 2015 with :se: 2015 MF Jon Hendrik or Mariette

I would swap :ua: 2016 with :ua: 2021

I would swap :nl: 2019 with :nl: 2013

I would swap :it: 2021 wth :it: 2015

For :ee: 1999 and 2000 would have been also better options.

What I disagree with in OP is that :fi: 2009 was more worthy song to win. It was absolutly trash. Thank god it didn't win. I would have picked for :fi: ether 2008 or 2013. I also like quite a bit their songs from 2010 and 2012 as well :).
...But the real question is why they didn't win at 1976 :)

I would swap Germany 2010 (Lena with Satellite) with Germany 2011 (Lena with Taken By A Stranger). I would also swap the joint-winning entry of the United Kingdom in 1969 (Lulu with Boom Bang--Bang) with United Kingdom 1968 (Cliff Richard with Congratulations).

Finland 2009 was so stunning, although their live was a trainwreck but still such an undeserved flop. I am also still listening to :lt: 2009
