Best ESC edition ever. I may have personal reasons at an emotional level as to why I consider this but I think the relation of quality and diversity in 2006 was really outstanding and sadly never to be found again. I'd risk saying there were songs for every kind of people. From dream pop to metal, from country to...the twist! And the comedy entries were just top notch, much unlike those of recent years. I think that from my list I would only perhaps rank about the bottom 10 as not listenable, but even then I'm not sure. Here we go:

It's too difficult to set a top 37 (and believe me I have tried to), but I want to honour some entries.

1st: - "Everything" - Anna Vissi.
I may not be entirely objective here, since I love her songs in general. Queen Anna.

2nd: - "Alvedansen" - Christine Guldbrandsen.
This is a perfect folk ballad. Interesting, mysterious, beautifully sung during the final.

3rd: - "Lejla" - Hari Mata Hari.
This is another example of the pure beauty of Balkan music.

4th: - "Never let you go" - Dima Bilan.
A great pop ballad.
