I would quite like the Big 5 to go into the semis and have 12 qualify from each semi, thus making a 24 song final which would be much more manageable. I understand the rationale behind the Big 5, but viewing figures in France and Italy aren't great anyway, I can't really see the UK viewership diminishing if we didn't qualify because nobody really watches to support the UK, and Spain and Germany could consistently qualify if they put their minds to it.

Also, for less monotony, I think it's be nice to change the rule about the length of the songs. They should allow songs going from 2:45 to 3:30.

Because having 40 songs (except Finland) with a length of 3 minutes, it's quite humdrum.

I'd like the spokespersons to make the full points announcement again, from 1 to 12 and not only 8, 10 and 12...

I'd like for the spokespersons to shut their mouth because no one cares if they liked the show or the host's dress and just get on with the points. :'D

More than 6 people allowed on stage.

Its often too bad that a song cannot have some dancers because they also need some backing singers for example.

Secretly I would like that too. But its just not possible with 40 countries or even more.

- I would allow more than 6 people on stage (but not more than 10).
- I hope they will NOT come back to the full points announcement, it's already annoying this way when some clowns decide to do their useless show for the camera
- I would delete the double hosting in English and French. Nothing against French, maybe the foreign language I like most but... it has no sense today to do a double commentary in French too.

I agree with the points announcement, there's always someone who makes useless jokes and tries to be funny. And also, imagine if we had all the countries that we can get in. It will take the whole night just to say some points. While it has its charm, we cannot live our lifes doing it.

As for French, I agree in a way, but it's also tradition, that has its good parts. I think there are things that shouldn't be dropped, I don't want the ESC feeling to be lost entirely.

I was reading forum-eurovision.fr the other day and even they were saying that French may as well be scrapped from the contest. So little French is given by the presenters that there's no way a non-English speaker without a commentator could follow using only the French instructions. Particularly since Copenhagen, the role of French has become almost purely symbolic.

Someone in our OGAE chapter did this last year; I second the sentiment:

I really think that this will be the last year we have a "Big 5". There have been hints all over the shop that they are looking to drop it, plus they get enough money from sponsors now.

Nah, even though that is one of the biggest dream of mine, that won't happen. But I think EBU will consider to shrink juries' affection on voting. Maybe they get back to old system from 2009.

Then results show would take at least 3 hours. No, please.

It is time to abolish "only 6 personS on stage allowed". And, of course end jury voting and back to the random draw.

This! The 6 person limit is silly and makes some shows very empty... of course there should be a limit, but 6 is too old school. Sure some shows don't need much people, while some definitely need it. I think 9 people could be a good new limit.

The rest I agree, as for juries a compromise could be to go back to the previous voting system (not the ranking which is super flawed) and make it maybe 30/70 in favor of the public vote...

And of course no-more non- European expansion and this includes Australia just being a one-time only thing!

I have the same hopes as last year: Changing the limit from 6 to maybe 8 persons on stage, dividing the countries not into halfs but into quarters before deciding the running order and finally going back to the "former ranking-system" to decide the points given.

the stage limit sounds like something Bjorkman might actually try to change, considering MF usually goes way above it.
