La vida es un carnaval!

English: Republic of Orovoda
French: République d'Orovoda
Orovodan: Ridulia du Orovodan

Orovoda is an island nation that lies on the Western continent. It is the second Northest country of the NSC World. The territory is made of two islands: Île Fixe and Île Kazé. They are linked by the Quidam Bridge.

It began in Nation Song Contest during the 26th edition, with the song Baila from Ima. It was officially delivered from the waiting list on August 5th.

The country's name is a combination between Oro (Gold in Spanish) and Voda (Water in many slavic languages), thus showing the great diversity of languages and ethnicities of its population.

Orovoda's flag shares similarities with the one from Quebec, the French-speaking province of Canada. Its national emblem is the Fleur-de-Lys (which is also the emblem from Quebec), shown in the middle of the flag. On the sides, two water drops symbolizing the great importance of water in Orovoda.

Here's some information about the country:

Government and development:
Orovoda is a democratic nation ruled by the Orovodan Blue Party, with Ms. Misha Ramsani at its head. The Party won the elections on June 3rd 2008 and allowed the nation to become a sovereign one. Orovoda was previously ruled by the Red Party, that wanted to keep the nation as a province and not as a sovereign state. The Orovodan Blue Party holds 86 seats, compared to only 14 for the Red Party.

Orovodan people are watching NSC only since the 23rd edition, and they already fell in love. OAC have already expressed their opinion about future entries from Orovoda in NSC:

''We don't really care about what's hot and what's not. We just want to send songs that are appealing and enjoyable. We are here for fun, and it really does not matter if we win or come last 20 times. We just want to add a little of our culture in Nation Song Contest!''

Re: - OROVODA -

Okay.

For NSC 44, Orovoda has decided to send a very special song. It's a 1989 hit from Québec, sung by two first nations people (Florent Vollant and Claude McKenzie) in their native language: innu-aimun, a language spoken by 11 000 people in Québec.

Their song, E uassiuian (meaning My Childhood), has been a massive hit in the late-80's in the province. I'm sending this song because it's close to my heart, I've been listening to it since I'm 3 or 4 years old. And I still adore it.

It's not a joke entry by the way. Hope you'll listen with open minds.

And it's gonna be the last entry from Orovoda.

I no longer have fun playing in this kindergarden. With so many troubled people, having no other things in life that NSC, it's becoming dangerously disturbing, and I don't wanna be part of that. I don't wanna be part of a simple internet game, where drama is reigning, where people are whining about not having points from somebody who promised them some, where the only thing that counts is being top 10, where people are no longer playing for the sake of sending music they love, but to have a good result. What's the point then? You're not gonna win anything by doing that. There's no price involved. What are you searching for by sending songs to have a good result? I don't know, and I don't wanna know.

Back when I first arrived, in NSC 26, I used to be stunned by the quality of songs sent. You were playing with your heart. With so many ethnic songs and original sounds, I was delighted to love 5, 10, 15 songs by edition. And now, I can barely like 1 or 2. Why? You're not playing for fun anymore, and it shows.

Grow up. NSC has never been as immature as of now. Stop caring. It's an internet game without any prize or merit. This won't lead you anywhere in life. Play for fun, like any other game, or quit. Nobody likes seeing someone playing only for the first place. And nobody likes people complaining, commenting, insulting, whining. ''Why aren't the results ready? Why hasn't the show started yet? Where are the score sheets? Do it, do it now, do it good, or we'll stalk you.''

Come on.

It was fun. It is not anymore. Beej. :)

In my experience these things go in a cycle. There are periods where people send songs only to try to win, but they always pass soon enough and people start sending interesting songs again. Personally I wouldn't withdraw because of that, it won't be permanent.
I do agree about the drama, it's completely unnecessary and is getting quite ridiculous :| But you have to put up with people like this wherever you go :p

Anyway, Orovoda's been a great country, especially in recent editions, you've sent some really great songs  I really hope you don't withdraw, it'll make the competition even more bland, but as always it's your choice of course :D
