The Stadium Doors Are Open!

Welcome to our pre-game coverage of the Pokemon League semi-finals, sponsored by the Acadian Accordion Company (TM) - Acadian Accordions - "Push My Buttons & Squeeze My Box!"

Ladies and gentlemen, it is a gorgeous day here at the Indigo Plateau Stadium, with absolutely perfect weather, making it a stellar environment for some outstanding battles here in the New Acadian capital of Port-Royal. Thank you so much for tuning in to our pre-game coverage. We are still about an hour away from our first match taking place, but you can start to feel the excitement in the air as the arena starts to fill up.

Let's take it to the locker rooms, where our competitors are starting to filter in. Some of the world's finest trainers are here to show off their battle prowess! Let's take a look at a few of them now...

Cydoni-Gibberia's Brock & Geodude

wjNE1zECSz-jM1l6hyedKa30sdxN_gOjgG7AL5fQwY8.png

Geodude has been a staple of Brock's team since his days as Pewter City's gym leader! With years of preparation for this moment, don't discount this Pokemon just because he's unevolved.

Balearica Island's Misty & Psyduck

Psyduck is a bit of a wildcard in this match, which version will we see today? Misty better work on activating Psyduck's psychic powers as soon as possible, otherwise she might be in for some trouble!

Kadis' Clair & Kingdra

ddgsvyt-944b9a27-101a-4237-9859-a4ecd3cd6976.png

Trust me when I say this - nobody wants to face off against one of the most feared Gym Leaders in the Poke-verse. Clair came here to win and her Kingdra is a force to be reckoned with.

We'll take a quick commercial break, and we will be back with some more pre-match content!

Welcome back to our pre-game coverage of the Natia Pokemon League semi-finals!

Let's profile a few more of today's competitors.

Fervorosia's James & Weezing

james_and_weezing_pokemon_masters_ex.png

Say what you will about James -- he's not the smartest trainer out there -- but the love and care he gives to his partner Pokemon is nearly unrivalled. You can be sure Weezing is going to give it his very best in front of today's crowd.

Tcher-Racoi's Giovanni & Persian

The mysterious Team Rocket Boss, Giovanni, is representing Tcher-Rahoi with his beloved Persian. Always by his side, but rarely used in battle, what can we expect to see from this wildcard team?

Biflovatia's Clemont & Luxray

Clemont_and_Luxray.png

Clemont is a well-seasoned trainer and his Luxury absolutely packs a punch when in battle! Does anyone have what it takes to take down this dynamic duo in battle?

Calypso's Morty & Gengar

Morty_and_Gengar.png

Another formidable duo, Morty's Gengar causes massive headaches for anyone looking to cause damage! With it's huge speed stat, it causes confusion before you even have a chance to move. I don't envy whoever has to go up against this team!

Before we get into it, let's explain how today's showdown is going to work.

match-commentators-top-cut-bracket-3-2.jpg

Each trainer has been paired off against another competitor in their semi-final to fight a Pokemon battle. The winner of each battle will join us in the final of NSC 213, taking place over the next week. The loser will be eliminated from contention.

The battle allocation has already taken place, but you will not know when you are up until you are called into the arena!

The order in which the battles are run will also determine your running order in the final. Therefore, battle number 1 = Draw #1 in the final.

The six pre-qualified nations will also be taking place in these battles, so you had better hope you don't get a draw against them! If you are unlucky enough to go up against one of the PQs, you'll know that you unfortunately ended up near the bottom of your semi-final and will not be progressing to the final.

As there are an odd number of participants taking place, the bottom-placed overall entrant (semi-final + reju score combined) has not been allocated a battle, but we will not reveal that until later ;)

We'll be back with our first match-up shortly! Grab some popcorn, take a seat, and enjoy the show.

Best of luck to our competitors today, let's hear it for them!

I pity anyone who has to go up against the might of my Hoppip's Splash attack!

I am loving the results show already and the main event hasn't even started  Good luck everyone!
