Oh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh

Not sure I told you, but I really like your teeth
That hairy coat of yours with nothing underneath
Not sure you have a name, so I will call you Keith
Oh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
See where you're going, but I don’t know where you've been
Is that saliva or blood drippin' off your chin?
If you don’t like the name Keith I'ma call you Jim
Oh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh

And before that wolf eats my grandma
Give that wolf a banana
Give that wolf
And before that wolf eats my grandma
Give that wolf a banana
Give that wolf
Give that wolf (Banana)

Yum, yum, yum, yum-yum-yum
Yum, yum, yum, yum, yum, yum, yum-yum-yum
Yum, yum, yum, yum-yum-yum
Yum, yum, yum, yum, yum, yum, yum-yum-yum
Banana

I like the scent of every meal on your breath
That hunger in you, I'm in danger now, I guess
Let's go to grandma's, you say grandma tastes the best
Oh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh

And before that wolf eats my grandma
Give that wolf a banana
Give that wolf
(I want your grandma, yum, yum)
And before that wolf eats my grandma
Give that wolf a banana
Give that wolf
Give that wolf
Someone give that wolf a banana

Yum, yum, yum, yum-yum-yum
Yum, yum, yum, yum, yum, yum, yum-yum-yum
Someone give that wolf a banana
Yum, yum, yum, yum-yum-yum
Yum, yum, yum, yum, yum, yum, yum-yum-yum
Someone give that wolf a banana

Ba-na-na
Ba-na-na-na-na
Ba-na-na
Ba-na-na-na-na

And before that wolf eats my grandma
Give that wolf a banana
Give that wolf
(I want your grandma, yum, yum)
Someone give that wolf a banana
And before that wolf eats my grandma
Give that wolf a banana
Give that wolf
Give that wo-o-olf

Yum, yum, yum, yum-yum-yum
Yum, yum, yum, yum, yum, yum, yum-yum-yum
Someone give that wolf a banana
Yum, yum, yum, yum-yum-yum
Yum, yum, yum, yum, yum, yum, yum-yum-yum
Someone give that wolf a banana

Not sure I told you, but I really like your teeth
That hairy coat of yours with nothing underneath
Not sure you have a name, so I will call you Keith

Okay y'all I have to admit something. 2022 marks 10 years since I started watching Eurovision (although I didn't start following NFs until 2014) and I have to say that I've never actually heard a song which has made me think "this is the winner of the contest". People love to point out songs like Arcade, Occidentali's Karma, or even Toy when mentioning songs which instantly gave off "winner vibes" but TBH I have never had this experience with a song.

Until today.

"Death of Us" feels like if Duncan Laurence, Ulrikke, and Lana Del Rey had a threeway love child, and it combines the best parts of all three. It has the raw emotion of Arcade, the power and crescendo of Attention, and the ambient magic of Lana Del Rey which makes you want to cathartically sob into your pillow while reminiscing on your failed relationships.

An official(?) Norwegian Eurovision account tweeted yesterday about how they have a "potential winner" in this year's MGP, and I honestly don't think that this was written through any kind of nationalistic rose-coloured glasses. Elsie really is a potential winner.

MGP has some great songs every year but my God I will mentally cancel the entire country of Norway if they mess this up again after last year.
And the mysteric thing about that feeling is, that you're not alone with it. I read that neraly everywhere!

Elsie Bay, please be able to sing live, please be able to sing live, please be able to sing live

that's all you need xpray

PS this is for MGP producers

Stop trying to be Melodifestivalen, even Melodifestivalen can't Melodifestivalen properly anymore. There's no need for semi-finals when each semi will have one runaway qualifier anyway.

"Death of Us" is a beautiful song, but I somehow feel like it could be better if it were sung by a female duo (maybe because the backing vocals are so present, especially in the second part of the song). Also, the lyrics would be suitable. I could imagine it being like the lesbian version of "A Monster Like Me".

Christian's poor attempt at a romantic ballad missed its way into Selectia Nationala, it would've fit perfectly. Such a bad cheese. TrollfesT is just another lolfunny Norwegian attempt, I never really appreciate these.

Christian is the only song I didn't listen to in full. I just had to skip after the 1min30. That was more than enough of torture already.

Subwoolfer - I give them a banana. Trash. But it will be popular among certain eurofans :)
Elsie Bay - the first half was promising, but the 2nd let me down a little. Imho, she can win MGP and theoretically finish in the top 10 at Eurovision.

TrollfesT is the current favorite to win semfinal 1 followed by Eline Noelia.

Are they sure they didn't turn the list upside down? xstars

Some diversity in terms of genres, but a lot of them are a bit stereotypical.

The most interesting songs are, to me at least:

Death of Us
Hammer of Thor
Dangerous

But all still not really my style/personal taste tho.

NorthKid is the only artist I know from this line-up, someone is even more basic than their regular song:oops:

From the first Semi, I'd choose "Black Flowers" and "Ecstasy"
I really also like "We're still here", but it's a bit repetitive and I don't like the operatic high parts.
As for the trolls: not half as good as Eskimo Callboy.

I am very satisfied with the MGP selection this year. The "fillers" this year are generally of higher quality than the last couple of years. With a total of 21 songs of course there will be only a small handfull with a real chance of winning. But the MGP is not just a way of selecting our representative for the ESC, but just as much a way for new artists to showcase themselves. And for artists from the whole country to "represent" their region or hometown.

Some years ago there was normally only one or maybe two songs that I felt were worthy of representing Norway. This year I would be fine with several.

I still still that the lyrics are the weakest part of several of these songs. Productions wise they all seem quite slick and professional.

Tomorrow's gonna be a tough semi 1 for me ... I like three songs, two especially. My wish would be that either Vassel or Craig makes it directly to the final. My ranking:

Frode Vassel - «Black Flowers»
Mira Craig - «We Still Here»
TrollfesT - «Dance Like a Pink Flamingo»
Eline Noelia - «Ecstasy»

Are the automatic qualifiers going to perform their songs in the semis or they won't do it this year?
