Okay, so here's the thing about TIX: he absolutely deserves a fair shake. It's not his fault that he was in the same national final as the second/best song of the Eurovision season thus far. Plus, as Eurovision has shown us time and again, local heroes are often local heroes for a reason, and if he could charm Norway as he clearly has, he may just be able to charm Europe as well.

Pursuant to that, I gave the song my very first listen weeks ago back when it was first performed, and the conclusion I came to then is that it's actually...

drum roll please...

Really bad! It's corny, it's sophomoric, whatever emotional core it could've had is lost by its thudding, overwrought production, Tix as a performer is a gaping charisma vacuum, absolutely nothing about it is, in my mind, redeemable.

I will give it one point because I am feeling very, very nice. I reserve every right to take it away upon further consideration.

That being said, Norway was another "house money" country where I didn't like their 2020 entry much at all, so nothing of value was really *lost* per se, except from an opportunity cost standpoint, which, again, doesn't matter.

I do think as well that this isn't totally doomed. Maybe it's just my "this is why we can't have nice things" bias, but as I said, if Norway so clearly see something in him that I'm just missing, maybe Europe will, too. I wish Norway the best of luck and will hope to see them near the top of my rankings where they have been many times before in 2022.

LOL KNEW IT. You only had to look at Tix's chart success vs KEiiNO's lack of. He seems a nice man anyway and I like his eccentric sense of fashion, and he sings in tune. Some positives there

Agreed. TIX is relatively more established than Keiino, which made it easier for him to get more casual votes in his hands.

I actually like the song, but it just falls way short on what Monument offered, and I can't see it doing anywhere near as well. We know how juries vote - as soon as they see the wings and chains, Tix is immediately going to be pigeon-holed as a non-credible entry and it's going to hit him hard.

Norway is probably going to a borderline NQ this year. Still stands a decent chance of getting through the semis, but I don't imagine a left-hand side finish is very likely.

Very disappointed, KEiiNO was my favourite. Think many of my countrymen wanted to give a new artist a chance this time.

For me and my personal taste this is the worst Norwegian MGP-winner in years (song nothing special and a flamboyant stage show that would be better suited to Ukraine/Russia in ESC imo, not Norwegian style). Best of luck though in ESC in The Netherlands in May.

I think that KEiiNO had chance at Eurovision 2019 and maybe they need to wait a little bit more to participate again. Others have to get a chance too. I'm really happy cause of TIX's win and he is currently my No1! Well done Norway! ❤ KEiiNO was excellent too, but TIX better for me. Not just song, but everything!
