Why X My Heart is hated so much, something I never understand. It is one of my favourite Azerbaijani entries.

I feel the opposite. "X my heart" is such a Basic Bitch Song lol. It's jibberish and tries to cover up its lack of a story / weaksauce rhythm with an inauthentic choreography which was intended to look cool (including a CGI globe which didn't even spin in the right direction ) but in really was just really silly and lame. I mean I don't even hate XMH because it served its role as death fodder well and its incompetence is almost funny enough to earn my ironic appreciation. Overall, my feelings for it skew closer to positive than negative.

However, Azerbaijan has had a few really good songs in this decade and you choose to love THAT song??? really? Over Skeletons and Truth? REALLY??? Yeah I totally cannot wrap my brain around that, but you do you until I find the time and opportunity to educate you on taste

My least favorite from Azerbaijan is Start a Fire. By far. One of the three 2014 entries that I hate.

I like Skeletons AND X My Heart and Start a Fire, rankings get people obsessed by placings and the suggestion one thing is better than another. If I like something I'm happy, and things I like a lot don't need rankings. For all the words some people say about X My Heart (why does it bother some that some really like it?), the live performance was excellent, much better than the studio for me. I loved that it was more understated. I loved the fun upbeat nature of it but apparently there's a personal element in the lyrics for her too. The staging was also quite understated. All that meant I could enjoy the finer points of it, rather than have something blasted at me like I'm I need to be woken up. That it was placed first in the semi suggested the organisers thought something of it too.
