Re: MALTA 2019

My two favorite maltese singers are singing this year, so i'm not sure who to suggest, but something like this would be a safe bet for me:D

Surely got to send something good next year. since 2014 it looks like Malta have given up on trying win which a few years ago many people were tipping them to win one. Hopefully they can get in a good quality internal selection and find a real contender

Malta is the only country that has big support from juries every year but their televoting is a huge problem for them!

It's so weird being the fact that the songs in their selections always seem so generic and boring  Hopefully Brooke can be internally selected and get some great songwriters behind her, Sacha Jean-Baptiste did her performance this year (even if it wasn't a good one, but they have a lot of contact on social media so they seem like great friends) and she could do her number in ESC with the right song!

I agree that their song are not that good to deserve so much support from the juries but televoting is here to fix the things!

I'm truly devastated at the death of 'MESC'. One of the most iconic NFs of the eurovision calender. No one else could quite do advert breaks or drawn out NFs and still keep things amusing like the Maltese could. I must enter a state of mourning. No more Mediterranean bank, no more seeing adverts in English that we also have and getting excited, no more endless pop ups throughout the show to go buy health insurance. RainyWoods No more Amber moments with 100% score victory for us in Malta. xcry1

I might as well miss the MESC with all its advertising glory, but at least Malta has stepped up in the game.

I hope at some point in x factor Malta they will sing their own songs and not just pick based of covers.

Re: MALTA 2019

What's the point of holding a national final with a single purpose of selecting the artist(s) and picking out an entry internally. I mean, it's basically the same thing, which occurred over the past few years: Claudia Faniello and Christabelle are two amazing talented singers. Do you really all sincerely believe in the fact that their entry would have been far better from the songs that they competed with? I'm highly doubtful regarding this selection process, but let's wait and see what comes out this predictable mess.

I bet that :mt: is already working with producers and music experts from :se: in order to create a masterpiece, which will be entitled "Breathless taboo, which walks on water".

There's only one reason why I'm excited about this forthcoming new NF: plenty of ads will be reused in other Maltese TV shows instead of being forced to see these never-ending financial investment advertisement. ;)

Nonetheless, still looking forward to being impressed, who knows after all?

No more 4h of boredom (I've stopped watching that shit last year) with 20+ unlistenable songs which would definitely finish last in - pick any year between 2015-2018. No more tryharding Jessicas, no more donut-looking Christabelles, no more talentless Faniellos, no more overqeered Franklins, no more Deborah C, no more Callejas. God yes.

Albania, watch it and learn.

You took the words right out of my mouth. For now, I fail to see the benefit of using a talent show because Malta never had trouble with their representatives' vocals, it is rather the songs that were often subpar.

Indeed, it's very likely they'll resort to Swedish composers in the end, but that isn't new to them either, so unless the chosen candidate signs with a record label that sees beyond the same old foreign composers the Eurovision fandom knows, I fear their results in the contest will remain the same tbh.

Re: MALTA 2019

So the auditions have kicked off and we have a Faniello attempting to represent Malta... Its not Fabrizio or Claudia.... Its Anna Faniello AKA Mummy Faniello! Their mother is hoping to follow in her childrens' footsteps
