What would be eurovision without MESC though? I just love having 4 songs, followed by an endless advert break and interval act.

Geez... don't remind me of that!
I gladly skipped last year's MESC final because I worked that night.
A perfect example of how to extend a 1 hour show into a 4-5 hours show!
As a Maltese, I get bored watching it. And it's not just MESC - but all productions in general, be it drama or debate, commercial breaks end up taking more airtime than the show itself.
Geez... don't remind me of that!

I do feel sorry for your entire country.
We moan about advert breaks here, but compared to yours they're so short.

The whole NF process must be re-evaluated... so much hype, so much drivel.
Amber clearly had the best song of course, but there wasn't much to choose from - dated Disney ballads and weak uptempos.
We need daring stuff. Sadly most contemporary producers/singers just snub Eurovision - I honestly believe we can win this whole thing but not if the national final is crammed with the usual artists/songwriters recycling the same old formula. Amber stood out as had a great song, but also because she hardly had any competition.

I was hoping for the 19th and 20th of February so I can go to the semi on my birthday then the final the day after and get wasted after the show.. but they don't seem to take my needs into consideration

It used to be held mid-February but now it's among the first... probably into the lame bullshit excuse of 'time for promo, editing of the song'... and why do songs need to be revamped anyway?
Simple 10-song national final in March and get it over with.
