Can i just say how surprised I am at the strong standard of the Maltese songs this year? Quite a few good to great songs! However, for me, there are five songs that clearly stand out above the rest as well as a clear stand out winner. Anywho here are my top 5 songs -

5th - I Will Fight For You - Fabrizio Faniello
I'm super happy that Fabrizio is trying yet again, despite his undeserved last place at ESC 2006. I really like this song and it just SO Fabrizio! I Don't think it'll win, because i think Malta is afraid of sending him again, but still it's a great song!

4th - Autobiography - Dorothy Bezzina
A simply fantastic song as long as you give it a few listens...I really like it, but i know it has no chance of winning...it's just impossible to get this song in only three minutes

3rd - You Make Me Go Uh Uh - Deborah C Featuring Leila James
A surprisingly fresh, modern and cool song to come from Malta. I honestly think that this song is Maltas best chance for doing well at ESC...it's so cool and catchy and fun and dancey, I love it and i'm sure most of Europe would.

2nd - DNA - Romina Mamo
I just can't express how much i simply adore this song. By for it's the most interesting song of the whole selection. I love it's jazzy beat and Romina's voice is simply perfection when it comes to this song. I think this song could be a dark horse for victory...and i'd celebrate it's victory...just an awesome and fantastic song.


1st - Dance Romance - Jussica Muscat
This song has been my favorite since the moment i heard it. Leaps and bounds the best song of the whole NF...I love everything about it. Just everything. Jessica is officially an ESC diva with this number.

What an absolutely dire selection of up tempo songs. Malta should just stick to ballads anytime they do up tempo it is dreadful.

With ballads it is not different unless they are sung by Chiara (not that I personally like them very much but I understand their appeal).
