Would be a good reason to come back for this traditional Eurovision country, but this isn´t very realistic imo.

I asked them like 2-3 years ago and the response was : mmh it's not popular we don't have enough money to send someone and to host.

Like what bitch, Luxembourg not having money ?

sounds to me like "We don't want to deal with it and that's our excuses".

I can hear the "no money to send someone" cause it's just a broadcaster but if they win, I'm sure the government/banks could give a little help

The reason was that it is too expensive to host (so they did not want to risk it) and also that smaller countries cannot be successful. Reasoning seems to be a bit off there though.

I think if they return, it is just this one time. Now that it is in the Netherlands and it is the 65th edition, but still wouldn’t count on it.

Local fans as well as artists begs the broadcaster to let Luxembourg come back:

Can we really believe that the Grand Duchy does not have the means to pay the €150,000 fee to participate in Eurovision, unlike the small state of San Marino? Any sponsor or sponsor would be happy to support RTL, which would gain a strong audiovisual audience!

Let’s admit that in terms of “Nation branding”, Eurovision is a boon for Luxembourg. We can not pretend to weigh on the European stage and refuse to participate in the only festive event that genuinely brings together the popular public of our continent.
