Yup, you ended up going for "Happy Valley" after one of the craziest NFs I've ever done! Calvin predicted a two horse race from the beginning and he was kinda right, although third place was fighting for the win in the middle! I was so torn halfway through that I sent out a bunch of PMs to people to try and broaden the viewpoint. This only resulted in more confusion and still some very very close results! Daniel managed to change the winner with his votes and push Happy Valley ahead after it had fallen behind a little. Here are the final results!

Toccata was never in it; kept miles behind the others at first, but gained some respectability towards the end. Storm also got close at one point, but couldn't quite catch up to the top two. Destiny was very popular indeed, getting 4 12s from people. I got two thorough essayists, who completely disagreed with each other about my top two (thanks guys! ) Destiny was both "weaker compared to the other four" but also a song where "everything just works together so well" whereas Happy Valley has "messier parts" but is also "a mysterious, powerful, enigmatic piece of art". So that left me totally confused as to which way I should go; so thanks to everyone for making that decision for me. Had it been a tie...

So hope you all enjoy Happy Valley! I'll leave you with my two favourite descriptions of the song:
"It can go from 'beautiful Chinese countryside' to 'Imperial death march' in twenty seconds."
"It's the short-attention-span-friendly 6-minute song."

WV69 National Final: Mitch Benn

For WV69, we're heading back in a direction I've not been in for a fair old while. Time for a return to some comedy songs! Mitch Benn is a fantastic performer who is best known for his satirical songs on BBC Radio 4's "The Now Show" and indeed it's from there I've got most of these National Final entries! I'm aiming to have one of the shortest seven song NFs ever, as the longest of these entries is 2:40!! Without further ado; here are the songs!

1. Bouncy Bouncy Druids Written after the 2012 Olympics about what to do with some of the more unusual leftovers from the Games...

2. Obamabama An oldie from when Obama was selected as the Democratic candidate for the 2008 elections.

3. Break Up Song So many love songs out there; this one is about the happier times

4. Yellow Light of Death It's happened to many a gamer with the PS3 apparently; here's Mitch's take on it!

5. IKEA song Sweden's second most iconic export gets the treatment with some "guest stars"

6. Virgin Bills Dead People Virgin MEDIA in this instance (apologies if you were expecting virgins...) When the company was a little, err, late in recognising the unfortunate demises of some of their customers!

7. Vaccinate Your Kids A very important message to all you parents out there...
