If you don't send Es pabiju tur I will fly to Latvia and personally shake every single Latvian with my very own hands. It's the pearl in this very.... odd selection. The way the chorus hits you with its rhythm is just uhhhhh magnificent. It's resplendently beautiful. There's a little waft of grandma's potpourri with it but the song does also carry a timeless beauty as it's just all so tastefully done. Lovely stuff.

Eat Your Salad is stupidly catchy and dumb. I predict a Twitter meltdown over its lyrical content in 3, 2...... 1. I really appreciate How as a piece of music. Doing a lot of stuff right. I don't know why but I'm not really sold yet. I feel I should like it more than I do right now as it's very much up my alley. On The Way Home isn't bad either but I'm fatigued by this stuff at this point.

I was excited to see Aminata and Markus' names here but I'm Letting You Go is just ok (too standard compared to the epic Love Injected) and If You're Gonna Love Me is the old Markus when I wasn't a fan, not the more recent latex suit wearing synth pop king Markus.

That is another odd section ... most of the songs are quite forgetable. I was excited to see the name Aminata, just to find out it was just another mediocre song ( the chorus is okay though). But I found four musical pearls in this section:

Inspo - "A Happy Place"
Patriks Peterson - "Can't Get You Outta My Head"
Zelma - "How"

I doubt that one of these songs will win, but nonetheless I will often listen to them.

I liked this selection. it's trash obv, but not the worst - romania set that bar close to the earth's core.

There's five songs in particular that I liked

Beatrise Heislere - "On the way home" (hieeee there Emma Nicoline, how kind of you show up in an NF that isn't likely to rob you dry)
Citi Zēni - "Eat Your Salad" (song about cunnilingus vaguely disguised as a vegan anthem )
Mes Jus Milam - "Rich itch" (I'M A RICH ITCH - total Ralfs Randomness, I can get behind that)
Inspo - "Happy place" (this one vibes well, and the final 30 seconds transitioning into a rock anthem? sure, works for me)
Linda Rušeniece - "Pay My Own Bills" (Song about adulting. Such a millennial munroe )

as for the win, *sigh*. One of the boring ballads is winning right? (NOT markus like what the uku are you doing with that crap??), i would suppose Aminata again, but I would prefer Miks Dukurs by a tiny smidge if it came down to that. Ideally though.... Beatrise or Citi Zeni tyvm.

this is exactly what i name mediocre - very mediocre indeed!
aminata has delivered - not that what most people incl. me have thought but she offers a quality ballad - would be interesting seeing her and the estonian elina in a battle at turin.
miks dukurs & zelma (very cool gitar in the second half) could be challengers for aminata.
there are a lot of similar songs - maybe an advantage for the coco'nuts or bajans?
no metal oder harder rock/electro/EDM in the contest surprise me a lot.
and also no sudden lights or annna.
with all the merits of the past i see aminata as the big favorite this year and in this field.

I guess everyone understands a different meaning concerning "mediocre", but to me Aminata's song is exactly that. Patrik Peterson's song might be also called that, but to me the song sticks into my head and indeed reaches me more emotionally than Aminata does - and that coming fro someone who likes Aminata a lot. She might win, but for me she is not a winner. Who knows though - she might surprise me with a fantastic live presentation? I am willing to change my mind!

Idk what to say about this selection of songs. I started listening and thought: "Ok, this is promising." It started with okeish ballad, then some sort of nice 80's song. But then till the end it was like that... Songs were ok, there wasn't any super bad, but also not one made me want to listen to the end. They are ok, quality not bad at all, but all are missing something. At least for me.

I'm listening to Latvia NF songs and one question came into my mind: how much Mika influenced Bermudu Divsturis? Because "Bad" chorus is literally "Relax, take it easy" by Mika...

I really, really liked "Es pabiju tur": it's old style, but in a very particular and likeable way, and her voice is soothing and really beautiful. I don't think a kind of song like this will be chosen for Eurovision, but I hope it will get a top 5 position because it deserves to be there.

The only reasonable options for Eurovision for me are:

- Aminata (the song is inferior to "Love Injected" but surely she knows how to present herself to the public, both visually and vocally.
- Beatrise (Jana's vibes from North Macedonia)
- Bermudu band (good chorus, don't like the initial part... the song is like a dj set or disco)
- Raum (good genre, like Annabelle from Czech Republic)

Many doubts
- Citi Zeni only for joke entry. But bye to final
- Elina (boring song but I love latvian language)
- Inspo (I like the mood with Slovenia 2019 in the 90% of the song)
- Kato (catchy song but nothing special for Eurovision)
- Linda (I love the Anastacia's vibes but not for Eurovision)
- Markus Riva (good song but normal... he is a good boy but this song will not take Latvia in the final show
