Kamandé (Ka-Mân-Day) is a former region of the Federal State of Orovoda that gained its peaceful independence on July 23rd 2010. Kamandé is an African word meaning Generation, reflecting the new era the country is beginning by claiming its own rights.

Kamandé's flag national emblem is the Moon hourglass, an object said to have been grateful to ancien civilizations of the country. According to the legend, two pieces of pure glass coming from the sky, in the shape of the Moon, landed on the Earth, near the ocean, and stayed on the ground for hundreds of thousands years without anyone discovering them. The glass slowly began to impregnate itself of the ocean's water over the years, gaining a part of its soul. It is said that anyone with a pure mind holding the Hourglass would control time, seasons and weather and share the wisdom of water through his life. The Hourglass must be passed to the youngest of the person's children through an official ceremony shortly before death occurs. If the water inside the Hourglass continues to flow, the child is allowed to be the next holder. If the water stops and refuses to move to the bottom bulb, the Hourglass reflects the child's impure mind and foresees that neither of his descendants will be of good destiny. In this case, the Moon hourglass breaks itself, the child is instantly killed and the world must wait hundreds of thousands more years for another piece of glass to fall from the sky.

JORANE
INEFFABLE

Jorane is probably the most popular cellist from Québec. Born in 1975, Jorane began playing cello only at the age of 19, being already a talented pianist. Her first album, Vent fou (Crazy Wind), came out in 1999 and became a major hit: no other artist previously had such a success with this kind of classical/modern instrumental music than Jorane. Following this breakthrough, she recorded nine other albums until 2008 with her most recent work, X dix (X Ten). She often performs in various music festivals and has collaborated to some movie soundtracks from the province.

KAOS 1 would like to congratulate Jorane and her song Ineffable for her perfect performance in Pigeon Island for the 57th Nation Song Contest. She managed to qualify for the final by arriving in the 10th position in the second semi-final. On the big night, she proudly defended the colours of Kamandé and finished 26th out of 28 participants with a grand total of 70 points. KAOS 1 and the entire population of Kamandé are wishing the greatest success for Jorane and her career and would like to thank her for the fantastic performance!

We would like to give special credit to Noizeland and Zechonia for their well-received 12 points in final. We also wish to thank every country who liked Ineffable and gave us some points, as well as Serenate & Clair for their victory!

Arkona is a Russian folk metal band specialized in a very specific genre of music: Pagan metal. This type fuses elements of heavy metal and extreme metal with unusual instruments and archaic languages. The band, founded in Moscow in 2002 by Masha ''Scream'' at the vocals and death growls, has published five albums. The lyrics of Arkona are heavily influenced by Russian folklore and Slavic mythology.

UNA VOCE POCO FA

Joyce DiDonato is an American operatic mezzo-soprano singer from Prairie Village, Kansas. She is known and admired for her interpretations of the works of Handel, Mozart and Rossini. In this performance, she sings the very powerful Una voce poco fa from Rossini's work Il barbiere di Siviglia (The Barber of Seville), where the character of Rosina declares her love for the Count Lindoro and writes to him, while saying she would do absolutely any atrocities to get him.

This is a very ambitious performance Kamandé is sending for NSC 59 as opera is a music genre very rarely heard in the contest. KAOS 1 and the entire population of Kamandé are wishing Joyce DiDonato and Una voce poco fa all the best of luck in Viola per Sempre for the Nation Song Contest 59!​

Pig With the Face of a Boy is a musical comedy duo from London, England. Using humor as their main inspiration, they describe themselves as ''the world's best neo-post-post-music hall anti-folk band''. Dan Woods assures the vocals and accordion with Donald Newholm on vocals, guitar, mandolin and charango. Their first album, La La Ha Ha (2009), contains this very special track condensing the entire history of the Soviet Union in 6 minutes or so, arranged to the Music A from Tetris, which is itself an instrumental arrangement of a Russian folk song called Korobeiniki.

First what I thought after seeing the title was "WTH, Yaponesia renamed itself to Kamande?"

It's a pity, cause Yaponesia would have chance to finally achieve PQ position, which they deserve a lot. Now NSC 61 is gonna be held in Kamande
