I'm so fed up with the blatant and ubiquitous antisemitism in some parts of the ESC community these days.
We're not criticising Israel's participation in the contest because they are jews. 🤦‍♂️
I dare say the vast majority (if not everyone on here) couldn't care less about what religion people have.
What we have a problem with is what the Israeli government and military are doing to civilians - to children! And them taking part in the ESC is whitewashing that.
That's our issue with Israel's participation.

I am really enjoying this new annual tradition of reality check-ups. Keep them coming, maybe next year the learning curve will not be a straight line and the surprised Pikachu faces will fade away. I may run out of Joffrey slaps tho, there is sadly only one more in store.
Reading through the tinfoil hat theories of bought/rigged votes, influential advertisements ('member Malta's campaign for Destiny with its huge impact?) and corruption was certainly an experience, as if Europe in its current state was in need of them to end up with the present televoting results. Do people only live on the internet these days? Oh boy.

I have to say I would be very ashamed if my own country was doing what :il: is doing for two years in a row. This is not even the only problem but it is, at the moment, by far the most critical.

Since this year we had a real "close call", I think EBU should take everything that is going on very seriously, because if they continue throwing their heads in the sand, it might be too late to fix the damage in case we end up getting the worst scenario. And it may happen on ESC's 70th birthday symbollicaly (God forbid).

Things will never be ideal but it's time for fair play to return to the contest. What we were witnessing now is something else entirely.

Imagine thinking people from the global south are human beings too. Oooooh, the vile and evil criminal thought.

They would likely have scored similarly if they sent Azerbaijan's entry this year (which was last place overall). If you all think the score would be the same if they sent the same entry four years ago, given the scores of other ballads in the final and the scores of similar ballads in the not-so-distant past... I don't really know what to tell you anymore.

I voted for Yuval (and Klavdia and Tautumeitas) yesterday, and I must say I'm pretty satisfied with our public vote. I'm so fed up with the blatant and ubiquitous antisemitism in some parts of the ESC community these days. The sheer scale of cognitive dissonance makes me almost speechless . And f.i. attacking an artist, a girl, who barely survived that atrocious Hamas-massacre, makes me realise, these people are probably not just misguided, but malignant.
I feel sorry for you when you can't differentiate between antisemitism and being critical towards the right-wing party in Israel doing genocide. And I am against booing at Juval, but at these times I wouldn't participate if my own country would be in war doing these things tbh.

Too bad that people like you do not see the ideological background of the demonstrations against Israel. Tell me what you are against but tell me also what you are FOR. And this often odd mixture of far-leftists and Islamists, thus ideologies not really known for freedom loving and liberalism, often calls for the demise of Israel and thus of the Israelis. I feel sorry for you if you cannot see that and that people indeed do recognize a antisemitic pattern even if it disguises itself as antizionism.

Never wanted to mentioneed it here, but I wrote my doctoral thesis about anti-semitism about historical backgrounds and literature and how a minority becomes the scapegoat for political systems. I did understand Israel's actions when Hamas attacked them, but to defend what is happening NOW is unacceptable.

What does the Global South have to do with the Israel-Palestine conflict and Eurovision? Do you even know what the term means when you use it? On another forum, someone said that Bulgaria was part of the Global South. I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

People who find it ok that the Israeli government mass bombs innocent Palestinian kids cus they don't matter.
And why would you call people who live north of the equator „people of the global south“?
