A rejected X Factor winner’s single with a substandard vocal performance = 2nd place apparently? Embarrassing for the contest

It's a bad song and certainly not a winning performance. Embarrassing is right. Eating up too many votes that could be spread elsewhere
The problem is this is going to happen year after year regardless of what Israel is going to send. The EBU needs to rectify this somehow, reinstating juries in the semi would be a good start

0 from juries in semi wouldn't do a thing, as they get 300 artifical points from televoting.

Sorry for my ignorance (I don't live in Europe, nor am I a Eurovision expert), but how did they manage to win the televote with such a dull song? Is it because Israelis living across Europe #united to support Israel (similar to how Turkish immigrants used to make Germany, France, or the Netherlands give 12 points to Turkey back in the day) or is the Israeli government somehow abusing the SMS voting system?

Big voting campaign, making people who usually don't vote/watch vote 20 (max) times, potentially some rigging. All very suspicious and maybe they should implement a system to make sure voters actually watch....

Yeah it’s insane how their televote score alone these days will guarantee them a top 5 placement lol

Honestly their results these past two years aren’t even really valid and they know it themselves lol. Must suck for both Eden and Yuval to know that

Honestly EBU should perhaps in the future issue a statement where everyone moves a rank up

A targeted advertising campaign and a very broad and dedicated fan base unfortunately

No, the extreme-right politicians around the entire world asking their voters to text for for Israel regardless of song is what almost made it the winner.
Thats because the extreme right in Europe is phoney and controlled opposition. :) Or so they say.
