omg best staging of today! This and Australia imo. Lithuania, Russia, and Sweden are fine with some elements that I'm not overly excited about.

Them vocals... I know there's a chance she didn't go full out and that she still does something about it, but if I had concerns before, now I am really worried.

If she manages to rectify this issue, I am pretty sure is qualifying.

Just bad vocally. Needs to improve, otherwise she will for sure not get that many juryvotes. And the battle in the televotes will be hard in this semi, so for now I still think this is a NQ.

You can dislike the song and still acknowledge the staging concept. I think it's a neat idea to make it look she's in a story book and such. It fits the song well, and with good camera angles it look good. If that's not an interesting idea then idk what is.

edit: also how can anyone judge vocals on a clip with such poor audio quality?

My heart sank hearing those vocals. Still time for some improvement I suppose but coming after Vasil, they’ll only stand out all the more. Interesting they chose such a dark colour scheme for such an uplifting anthem but hopefully there’s an explosion of colour at some point.

We have a 50 second clip with basic audio quality. Lesley is singing live for only 30 of those seconds. It's mainly a tech a rehearsal. And she sounds absolutely fine to me. Can somebody explain what's so bad about it? I honestly don't hear it.

And it's ridiculous to criticize the staging until you've actually seen it. Nobody knows what this will look like yet.

I'd say she's slightly off pitch in the chorus on the high accentuated notes it's mainly there for the first repetition, the second one is better.

Okay, if that's what you hear I won't try and convince you otherwise. It's borderline at worst. I'm happy to give her the benefit of the doubt though, considering it's the first technical rehearsal and this was far from an official audio mix. There's no way I'd put this in the same bracket as Tusse's Unicef performance, for example.

The staging is pretty cool, although I'm not a fan of something that only the TV audience will experience. I'm also a bit iffy about her vocals, they were wide off the mark. That said I'm very excited, which is something I haven't been able to say about an Irish entry in years!
