Reykjavíkurdætur consistantly rotates their members, there have been around 23 members since 2013, so when you go to see them live, you'll most likely be seeing a different lineup the next time you see them.

I'm looking forward to see them live, they are quite controversial here Iceland, imo for no good reason, they're a group of feminist women who decided to take over the predominantly male rap scene in Iceland, that seems to make some people mad

Basically, yes, whenever someone decides to do other commitments they don't really "leave" the group, they can always come back, I think the maximum amount of active members at any point was 14, so there's really no limit to how many of them will be on stage when they're live

@mauve yeah, I found them really a struggle to get through. I kept waiting for just one song that would grab me but it never came. The closest was Mögulegt that has a beautiful beginning but ultimately floats around too much and I'm not keen when the marching drums come in. It's just ok, as is Með hækkandi sól.. but eh? *shrugs*

I like some of the songs but more like something I would play at home. Let's see the live to view how it translates because to me it lacks a little bit of energy (or maybe was I playing the music too low? )

(I only listened to the Icelandic versions.)

I like Reykjavíkurdætur, Hanna Mia and the astrotourists and Sigga, Beta og Elin.
