I hoped France would give us a winning song, but as they didn’t, I think we are going to Sweden again.

So far I would hope nobody wins tbh. I had hope it would be Paris 2026, but the song is disappointing. And I don't want Sweden again to win, even if the song is better than usual for the country. And even though Austria still reminds me too much of Nemo (I know it is different, but still ...), it seems there is no other choice. So I will keep my fingers crossed for JJ. Or a miracle happens and :de: takes the whole thing. xclown

And can someone open up a thread with the favorite Big 5 in the poll? (Don't know how to do this, so ...)

It should be Albania but i fear they're not gonna let them for economical reasons.

Sweden has a super televote magnet that might suffer the same fate as Cha Cha Cha or Rim Tim Tagi Dim. Austria has a history of mediocre performances and a sense of similarity with last year winner but there's a level of epicness unmatched with the rest. France is definitely in the mix as it got wide appeal.

A left-field choice is possible. Let the fun begin!

37 songs and there are plenty I love but I still somehow hold the opinion that I hope not

I would say the main competitors...

:se: The obvious one at this point. I think they'll break the curse of the fun novelty entry coming 2nd. Kaj will likely win the public vote big time. Now think about how swayed the jury are by odds. Last year the favourite, Rim Tim Tagi Dim, did extremely well in their vote with an incredibly jury unfriendly entry.. in terms of song, vocals and staging. Bara Bada Bastu is much more slick a package and it's Sweden. They won't win the jury vote, no, but I think what they get should be enough of an extra push. Also, if this is still top of the odds by May, the juries will give it a further extra push to avoid the contest going to Israel.

:at: Top 3 in the jury vote, although not confirmed as we know how they've scored full on operatic entries in the past (take La Forza for instance which was a better song imo and less jarring.) Some are convinced it's their winner but I'm uncertain (of course it's possible.) Public vote I feel will be weaker.. maybe 5th to 6th. It can win but it needs to get lucky.

:il: Top 3 televote (dark horse to top it actually). A much stronger entry than last year and it comes off as sincere + there's Yuval's backstory. Juries will like it more but they'll also be ranking it down to avoid having the contest in Israel. I believe they'll come closer this year to winning, 2nd or 3rd overall.

:it: This is being slept on. I think it's potentially top 5 in both votes and could sneak a victory if weird shenanigans happen.

:fr: Easy jury top 3 (potentially their winner actually.) With the public vote I'm guessing maybe 4th to 6th, similar to Austria. Despite the weird fan reaction, I think both entries are neck and neck. Austria is more of a strong bubble song whereas France I see generally being liked more by non followers of the contest.

Dark horses (wild cards)..

:pl: Poland mean business this year and I'm envisioning a Michal Szpak style moment in the voting. It could be better than that if the juries actually decide to reward the most talented vocalist of the year. It's a big IF as we know how the jury react to such entries usually.

:al: How this entry will do has confused me since it was selected but its place in the fandom's heart has endured the entire season and their upward momentum in the odds continues. Albania have landed public top 10s with weaker entries and for the first time in a long while, I feel they have a song here that juries generally should react very well to. Imagine they come say 5th or so with the public and then similar or better even with the jury? I'm daydreaming now but I have to put these thoughts out there so I can say "told you" if Albania has their next Suus moment.

:de: As it has already been proven, this is the song from 2025 with hit potential. It's the freshest, most modern sounding entry. Thinking about it, Baller doesn't really have much competition at all in the female bop field. It can do well with the public, and despite the weak performance being a worry, I'd say the jury can give it a surprising amount of points for being slick and modern.

So yeah, there's my possible winner predictions. Come fight me (ultimately I do think it's Sweden but many others have a path.)

The way I thought you were cracked out when you first said this to me and now I'm looking up when the collective continentwide "Amar Pelos Dois"-induced psychosis began because I have come to believe that "Zjerm" could possibly be the beneficiary of such a thing.

Enough "Telemoveis" comparisons; they're too skiddish. Enough "Suus" comparisons; they're too on the nose. We need to start making "Amar Pelos Dois" comparisons.

This is one of the easiest years to predict. Everyone who has watched last year and has looked at the odds for 5 minutes knows that Austria will win jury vote by a lot. Even if Sweden wins t/v (i think Austria will win it as well) the difference at jury voting will more likely be huge so Austria will get an easier win than Switzerland last year.
Albania will finish somewhere between 3rd and 6th.

But, it is Sweden sending this song. If Finland sends this kind of song I'm agreeing, But it's Sweden, so.who knows what the juries do. They 'should' put Austria on top probably given he pulls it of and the staging is good, but will they?
