THE BIG COMEBACK OF WESTERSUND
Griffiniskaja Laul is finally coming home

The winner of the sixteenth Griffiniskaja Laul and the representative of the Griffin Empire at the 215th Nation Song Contest is GRANT with the song Tilt! After a series of poor results and a record number of last places, former powerhouse of the Laul - Westersund took their first win in the last ten editions. This is the fifth and record victory for this province. GRANT won first place in both the international jury and domestic televoting, and collected a total of 116 points.

In second place (both the jury and the audience) was Clara Mae representing the principality of Õklingsmaa with a total of 103 points. Third place was won by the host principality of Meremaa with the song Divano Nostalgia performed by Galeffi, collecting 85 points. Galeffi, however, won only fourth place with both the jury and the audience, but thanks to the fact that Blanks, who ranked third according to the jury, won only six points with the audience, he managed to finish in third place at the end of the voting. Similarly, Aidan Bisset, who finished third with the Griffin audience, finished last with the international jury.

Traditionally, the last votes of the evening were votes from the host principality.

Of course, we have to thank the members of the jury who endured weeks of relentless bullying. Thank you Mormadorei, Moisantia, Effiland, Belvist, Kadis, Bigicia and Tamausia & Deltannor! You have a month long break til the next edition. x-heat

WHAT'S ANOTHER TIE FOR A RECORD
Meremaa claims its fifth victory at Griffiniskaja Laul 17

The Principality of Westersund was buzzing with excitement as the 17th edition of Griffiniskaja Laul, the prestigious song contest, took place in the capital city of Pyetsit. The competition was fierce, with Meremaa emerging victorious for the fifth time in the history of the event, matching the record previously set by Westersund for the most wins. The winning performance was delivered by Stephen Sanchez, who went on to represent the country at the Nation Song Contest for the second time in his career.

The runner-up of the event was Pzyerüyölkeä, with Westersund rounding out the top three as the host principality. The international juries' votes determined the Griffin representative at the 217th Nation Song Contest. This year's event saw the jury participation of eight Natian countries, including Mormadorei, Rumia, Belvist, Ugaly, Bigicia, Svobodnia, Kadis, and New Bander State, which all were part of the international juries at least once in the past. The jury nations gave points in the same way as Griffin televoting. Juries and televoting combined determined the overall winner of the festival with both deciding that Meremaa should win the contest.

Arkea-arrenaa in Pyetsit came back for its hosting gig for the second time in history. This meant that Pyetsit became the city which hosted the contest the biggest number of times. Leo Woodall was the presenter and host of the show, and the opening and interval acts included a number of special guests who performed current chart-toppers, as well as Griffin WLSC, NSC, and GL hits.

Regional branches of GTV had sole discretion on the process they employed to select their entry for the contest. There were no regional finals, meaning that all principalities chose their acts internally. Interestingly, the most number of songs submitted came from Foreõsvdetrre, while the least number of songs came from Westersund, despite their victory at the previous edition.

However, there was a bit of controversy when it was noticed that Paloma Paris, the representative of Sletterimaa, had the same song as Mormadoreian representative at the 216th Nation Song Contest. This meant that she was ruled out as a potential Griffin representative, but she wasn't disqualified from the festival.

In the end, it was an electrifying night filled with amazing performances and impressive talents from all over Griffin Empire. Meremaa emerged as the well-deserved winner, and all eyes will be on them as they represent the country at the upcoming Nation Song Contest.

Thank you all that decided to be part of this madness that took whole April to finish. Thank you Mormadorei, Rumia, Belvist, Ugaly, Bigicia, Svobodnia, Kadis, New Bander State! Another month long break is coming, and then for the 219th NSC we'll have 18th GL. x-heart
