We qualified! I was never considering us as sure qualifiers so the qualification is a small sucess itself imo.

The part of predictions i was totally wrong is that televoting hated the song way more than i expected but juries voted for it more than i expected. However i was among the few Greek fans that never expected top 10, sf wins and other impossible things to happen.

With all due respect, but you had predicted a few wrong things about the Greek entry this year (e.g that it wouldn't qualify, that it would be bottom-3 with the juries in the semi etc). Not to mention other wrong predictions of urs about other entries, such as Portugal.
You don't need to boast about ur predicting abilities. You are not seer fucking Calchas anyway. :D

I know that in the majority of my predictions i was totally wrong this year. Yes i'm terrible on predictions. I'm aware of that.

But we speak for the Greek entry here and i was closer to the result than the rest of fans. Look what was happening in here, in another forum and of course in the Greek pages.

Ermm...congratulations i guess? xshrug Just tell me if you have the time to come here and collect your prize, or u want me to send it to u by mail...(kidding :p)

The comments about our song this year on the greek pages were fairly mixed, as it happens almost every year.

And i personally think it is expected to see us being a bit more optimist when we send "Better love", and not, let's say "Utopian Land", or Demy's trash.

In some GR facebook pages people were way too optimistic i think. :p On OGAE comments and some other pages they were more balanced but still too optimistic.

Now about optimism i'm not very optimistic in general but next year i will try to avoid predictions

Reading the previous comment that the perception of "Better Love" amongst Greek fans was fairly mixed comes as a huge surprise to me.

Apart from Citelis, I just read comments by Greek fans everywhere that it's a surefire Top 10 and that it will even win and if not, that Eurovision is rigged anyway.
Even after the rehearsals when I wrote that her vocals come across as unpleasant and that I'm confused because of the staging, Greek fans on FB said that "they know how amazing it will look on TV and that's still a hot contender for victory".

Anyway, Greece is getting on the right path again. The heavenly production was great but they better send a more confident singer on stage (vocals-wise)

Its not the first time that our entry got overrated by Greek fans. It actually happens almost every year. On forums, OGAE etc you may meet more realist and serious people but on facebook fans are very aggresive. I remember that some days before semifinals on a big Greek facebook page a girl wrote that she believes that we will come 17th. ''Go back to your kitchen'', ''Shut up'', ''Ban her'' were some of the majority of the reactions. :?

You mean that Maria girl? If so, then i must say that she was very entertaining, i enjoyed her posts, but hun, get real. She was a troll, she did not even try to disguise it a bit. Too bad other ppl on the OGAE FB page did not have some good sense of humor to play a little bit with her! I miss her already! :(

Yes i'm talking about her. I knew that she was troll but she was behaving well. Sadly the majority of fans were way too aggresive to her for no reason. At least she was a succesful troll.

I would not call her "successful", cause her trolling was pretty obvious, but seriously i could not stop laughing with some posts of hers and i kinda admired the calm way she treated all her bashers with...xrofl2 I hope she stays in the group! :D

I'm not sure if everyone in the group got that she was trolling because if some members were able to understand that she wanted to troll they wouldn't write stuff like ''Go back to you kitchen'' which shows that they were angry.

I think the biggest flaw of :gr: fans is the lack of sense of humor and that they take everything too seriously...i mean, you have probably read comments about our country being ridiculed because of a bad result in ESC...I mean, seriously?

Yes some people should try to have more fun and enjoy music and not being that serious about Eurovision. Of course we all support our country and we want to do well but there is no reason to get that much dissapointed if the result is bad.

What I find interesting is that something simple as camera angles and gestures can do so much disadvantage towards the entry :(

Yeah the camera angles were pretty bad. Too many wide shots and some weird ones towards the ending. I don't think it's a huge disadvantage but definitely something that could have been much better.

In any case I think 21st place was a little undeserved. This was not top 10 material anymore but it had the potential to reach the top 15-16. The televoting was obviously going to be low (although I must say I didn't expect only 24 points) but I was quite taken aback when I saw that 35 out of 205 jurors (17%) ranked her last and countries that gave her 12 or 10 points in the semi ranked her pretty low in the final. Maria Elena back in 2015 also came 3rd with the juries in the semi but she went down to 19th in the final.

That might be the fault of the staging because Katerine was fantastic in both the semi and the final. While the concept seemed promising it didn't turn out very well in the end. It was kinda weird. The wall and the balloon were completely ignored and I think none of the viewers actually understood their purpose there. And for GOD'S SAKE who uses flickering red and yellow lights in 2019!

Anyway I really hope our broadcaster doesn't give up and either doesn't participate in 2020 or starts sending trash songs again. This year was a step in the right direction. Better staging next time.

Im just warning you. The more you hype your own Entry, the more her upcoming Flop will hurt.

Without Sanmarinos Fake Televotes, which make no Sense mathematically, Greece, the initial Favourite to win the Semi, wouldnt even be a Televote-Qualifier, but Belarus would have been. A shame that Zena now has the Image of being a Jury-Qualifier instead of Katherine.
