Oh yes... Cascada! My teen years, how to forget :ROFLMAO: I mean, Cascada 10 years PRIOR their ESC debut.
I saw them live in London last summer. I was off my tits at a festival drinking white claw and moshing in a tent with my fellow gays. If that doesn't warrant her to return to ESC then idk what does!!!

Sounds like a prelude to some really bad porn.

I still hope for an amazing life performance like the one Schulte came up with...I see lots of potential BUT they definetely need to change something on stage. There is a lack of creativity, for me thats a fact..like always when it comes to Germany's staging. I think Chris and his bandmates have to move way more on stage to create a dynamic. In Addition to that I hope there will be some animatronics that put something modern into the whole package...

Agree and disagree at same time.

This song in all its bliss is beautiful and horrifying at same time. That conflicting deep emotion can be absorbed by the public only if they keep staging simple.

If they focus on props and animation, that will drive the focus away from everything that's great about this entry.

Trash metal bands tend to overdo themselves on stage to a total mess. On the other hand, when I see Laibach or Rammstein or Metallica, there's no mess there. Every detail is well put, makes sense and is visually coherent with whole stage.

So I'm totally for a light-show here, black and white shades and interesting lighting positions, silver effects LED and interesting editing.

No props, no 80's masks of devils or make-up, no fireworks (didn't like that with Maneskin either), no Loreen nails 🤣 thank you.

Latex and Targaryens can stay though 😁

One of my friends works at the BBC Radio for my region, and apparently shes got one of the songwriters to come onto the radio show to talk about the song and such.

Not all the songs need staging.
I think this one doesn't need a complex staging. They are a band with a defined style and character. The singer has enough charisma to dominate the stage. Maneskin didn't have a particular staging. Only few steps and pyros. That's all. The same elements you see in any rock concert.
Sweden, Finland, Spain, Serbia, Croatia and some others are strictly connected to the staging and can't do without.
In this case LOTL are the staging and this is the strength to my opinion.
You may like or not the song, but LOTL will not get lost in the middle of other songs because they are very recognizable and that's a plus, you may finish up or down but not in the middle getting 12-20th place with no points.

Such a great interview with Chris. Will translate the most important passages - LOTL really didn't expect to win. The whole interview - wow. Such a humble and respectful person!

Chris Harms: We've slowly understood what's in store for us. Since we firmly expected not to get any further anyway, we didn't really think about the ESC final beforehand. Of course, the joy is all the greater now because it really came as a surprise. We were the favorites in many pre-polls, but we didn't take that seriously because all of Ikke Hüftgold's measurable values and figures spoke against LOTL progressing. Normally I'm not one for surprises at all, but in this case it's a little different. We are overjoyed to have this opportunity!

Harms: "Nervous" might be the wrong word. I was more worried. Unfortunately, as a sound engineer and generally very interested in technology, I also know too much about all the little things that can theoretically go wrong and that keeps me busy. First and foremost, technical errors can affect your own monitoring situation, which means it can negatively affect what I hear through my headphones. And that in turn can mean that you sing shit because you don't hear yourself well. And no TV viewer will ever know or understand that, you may just be a failure. Actually nobody wants to be like that.

Harms: Luckily, as a songwriter and producer, I have the openness to learn something from every act. And that all acts have worked hard for this participation and deserve the same respect is beyond question anyway. But if I judge purely on the taste, then Anica Russo was my favorite. Simply because her genre, her song and her voice correspond most closely to what I also like to hear privately. And I've actually been listening to their songs every day since the preliminary round.

Harms: Ever since I was a child, the Grand Prix has been one of the annual television events. And since I've been making music since I was five years old, taking part in the ESC is a big childhood dream come true!

Harms: I'll be watching and listening to all of this year's contestants, along with a reaction video of my first impressions, because it's a matter of respect to engage with my peers beforehand. But I won't analyze what show elements have been offered by who in recent years or this year. LOTL are what LOTL are and we will do our thing as raw and authentic as we are. No other artist can and should change that by convincing ourselves that we somehow have to adapt or desperately keep up somewhere. I am convinced that only authenticity makes an artist credible and that the audience for the most part has a subconscious and fine feeling for it.

I love they are participating with a good sense of humour. Their Instagram posts are funny too. I think they really enjoy doing the whole Eurovision stuff and it’s always great to have a participant who is truly interested in the contest (and not just being chosen by the broadcaster and doesn’t have a clue what Eurovision is).

Yes! One of the coolest things about rock is seeing the guitarist + basist rock their b.... off! They need to be center stage with Chris, that's what I missed! Idk if you saw Six Feet Under performed during Melfest but there it was (as always) the guitars that grabbed my attention (or better; the guitarists ;) )

Agree with you both. I have to say that there were little things I loved about their winner's performance like Chris looking directly into the camera or how the guitarist and bassist played their instruments back to back ... little things like that upgrades a performance so much more. I am pretty certain that they work on it as LOTL for example asked on twitter which performance the people liked more (the first or winner). I think they need a guide to know what they can make better. I hope it won't be static, but more powerful.

Agreed.

I guess (and hope) with a larger stage it will happen! :-)
