The winner ofPop Idol Georgian Star will represent Georgia in Tel Aviv.
The show will start in January.
Televoters and 4 jurors will select the winner among 10 contestants.

They were robbed!!!!! But then, their Staging was insanely messy and kinda dumb but the song (studio version) was fantastic. I love the Georgian balls at Eurovision.....metaphorically....not literally. They take risks and don't look back.

So there are affairs going on between reporters and Eurovision representatives? We been knew! 
I won't ask for names yet, don't worry.
Seriously though, I can only second your opinion on Georgia. I might be wrong, but I feel that using Idol this time will mean a more conventional effort in Tel Aviv musically-speaking. Regardless, I hope they'll keep experimenting and think out-of-the-box in the future: even though this approach brought them two last places in the semis recently, it is much more worthy than reaching the top 10 with formulaic songs that are of little interest imo.
And The Shin & Mariko were brilliant, I admit I didn't get the song at first, but it grew on me a lot over time. One of their best efforts to me.

I also think there is a good chance that Georgia may go a bit more "mainstream" pop due to the Idol system but honestly, I think it's only fair for them to do that for one year. Sending different styles and genres every year, that also includes chart friendly pop every now and then. As long as they don't do this every single year, I'll give them 2019 to go with something less crazy...BUT ONE YEAR ONLY. My only request is: Don't hire G:Son.

As I have understood it, people will be able to choose the winner of the show and in a later decision the song which will represent Georgia in Eurovision.
Does it mean that all finalists (even the runner-up and 2nd runner-up) are up for that "who is going to represent Georgia in Eurovision" or is the winner going to sing the songs of the other candidates again and the public has to choose with song they will perform?
