I finished watching (as in it's in the scoring part as I type) 2004 to record about it tomorrow so here is my ranking!!!!!!!!!
Ukraine - WORK. OF. ART. No wonder the 2003-2005 winning triad is my favorite one. The warrior princess looks with high energy performance with engrish with just ruslana ruslaning during all performance just made her a deserved winner (and my favorite by a landslide)
Belgium - COME ON. Song A+, singer A+, staging A+, performance A+... freaking 7 points???? ARE YOU FOR REAL
Bosnia & Herzegovina - #straight this is easily my favorite bosnian entry ddddddd (sorry putnici and bistra voda!!!!) and I make the choreography all the time (even when I'm not listening to it tbh).
Turkey - this is the kind of host entry I'd like to see more. Not really a safe entry, but with a delivering performance. Good job and deserved the good decision!!!
Albania - GREAT debut but EVEN MORE GREAT outfit change thank you
Sweden - I miss when Sweden just sent schalegerish girls :'( #no #more #boys #misandry the dress should be BURNED
Estonia - the NQ that I mourn the most. It could have had a better performance, sure, but overall it's a great entry. They walked so that NOX could run in 2005!!!!
Macedonia - rip in peace. I like this for no special reason whatsoever. Not the strongest pop song, but it holds a special place in my heart. Jealous people say the performance is a Sertab rip-off.
Greece - it has a Ricky Martin-ish energy in it, and as Ricky was my childhood crush this is definitely a compliment.
Spain - Spain in 2001-2005 era was so good what happened. This might be my least favorite of the bunch but I would take it over half of the songs of the 10s.
Russia - I spent most of the performance wondering which song the chorus reminded me of. Turns out it was robbed WV bop
Vselena. #we #demand #justice I like the song but that performance was choices.
Portugal - BOP that I would like to see it in the final but BURN THAT DRESS
Serbia & Montenegro - This song has a strange grow/fade effect in me. This time it was the former. I guess the draw helped a bit. I enjoy the beginning of the song more than the end. I don't love it as much as people do, but I get the hype of it at least.
Andorra - Her clothes are a clean version of something living legend Alma Rey would wear
a star. I enjoy the debut and I would have liked to see it in the final.
Belarus - Nice debut as well, albeit a bit different from what I imagined (and having gasps guitars). The backing vocals seem to be taken randomly in the streets because all of them were wearing distinct clothes from one another and it bothered me, ngl.
Romania - Song is nice, def. not my favorite Romanian entry (and being sandwiched between Nicola and Lumi doesn't help). That outfit though........ no wonder it won Barbara Dex in such a strong year in that field.
Malta - THIS IS SO TACKY. But then again I'm also tacky sdfkljfdsjldsjkldskl draw in the final DEFINITELY helped them.
Finland - Lovely tango dance with background song !
Monaco - I like the genre of the song, but it's a filler entry. Why did she randomly use a cape and got rid of it 5 seconds within. Choices.
Denmark - Same as above but I like it less.
Poland - It's a bit mixed because I like the vibe and the melody but I'm not too fond of the vocals (and the outfit). Overall, leaning positive, so green here.
Lithuania - There are parts of it that I enjoy like the break but THAT HEART. NO. BURN IT.
Israel - This is a bit bizarre because nothing seems to fit? It's like his voice is not suited for the style of the song, there is no connection whatsoever.
Switzerland - The mix of Be happy and Crybaby
this is SO bad I end up lowkey enjoying it.
Slovenia - I literally just remember the kiss and the lady's dress. This is not a good sign.
Latvia - Nice to see it being sung in Latvian, but other than that I don't really care. Sorry.
