MALIKA AYANE
Senza fare sul serio
ITALY JUNE 2015 ENTRY
Malika Ayane (born 31 January 1984) is an Italian pop singer of Moroccan descent. Her career starts when she's 11 and enters the Children's Choir of the famous Teatro alla Scala in Milan, where she remains until 2001. A few years later she begins working for some commercials and in 2007 signs her first recording contract with
Sugar Music Label that in 2008 publishes her debut album
Malika Ayane, certified platinum with more than 80.000 copies sold.
She participates for the first time in the Sanremo Music Festival in 2009 (in the Newcomers section) with the song
Come foglie that becomes in a few weeks the best-selling and the most played song among the contestants.
In 2010 she comes back to the Festival, this time in the Big Artists section with
Ricomincio da qui. She's the hot favourite to win, she gains the Critics Award, but she reaches only the 5th position in the final chart, causing a noisy protest from the orchestra, contrary to the opinion of the televoters. In conjunction with Sanremo, she publishes her second album
Grovigli, another platinum with over 100.000 copies sold.
Back on the scene two years later, in 2012, with the song
Tre cose, first single from her third album
Ricreazione, she participates for the 3rd time in the Sanremo Music Festival in 2013 with two songs (a special rule in force in 2013/2014)
E se poi and
Niente, but only the first one goes through the final and ends in the 4th position (another platinum).
Following a long break, she confirms a fourth participation in the Sanremo Music Festival this year. She presents the song
Adesso e qui (Nostalgico presente, with whom she reaches the 3rd position in the final chart. In conjuction with Sanremo she publishes her fourth album
Naif.
---
Senza fare sul serio is the second single from "Naif", the fourth album by Malika Ayane, written by herself with
Pacifico, Matteo Buzzanca and
Edwyn Clark Roberts. It's one of the most representative songs of the new album by Malika, with minimal arrangements and dance beats. The song opens with a relentless riff and explodes in a liberating chorus. Malika sings about some habits of a monotonous life and invites us to not waste our time and enjoy the life... even if she realizes of being stuck in the routine life as everyone.
