I’d love this to win as I bet some money some weeks ago. However, this whole sand performance is too much for me. The whole thing makes me feel a bit uncomfortable instead of making me connect to her and the song.

For the past few years, people are automatically conditioned to consider France among the winner contenders so they are given an early hype even before their entry is revealed and if Georgia sent this song it would be considered dead on arrival.

The "France" trademark and the perception of the French language in Europe automatically gives them the 'quality' label.

I mean its not a bad song by any means, it just sounds like one of the filler songs in an album, rather than the independent single.

The thing is that some of you are saying that the staging will be bad, but we have yet to see the whole performance so far?

I actually quiet liked the sand effect. Much better than Saba last year, and her song was bloomin' called "Sand"! xcrazy

And yes, I broke my rule and watched some rehearsals yesterday, but only for the auto-qualifiers.

I know there's another element of Maman's staging that hasn't been shown yet, but from what I've seen, it's not giving winner. It's not even giving strong contender.

I like the way the sand falls in a spinning motion, but other than that the led cloudy sand effect behind Louane, her presence, the ill fitting dress, her having to avoid getting sand in her mouth and eyes. It gives NF performance.

I wanted this one to happen, but it's... just not that great. It is decent, though, and I wouldn't mind it doing well, but there were French entries more deserving of victory in the past 10 years.

I don't really think it is winning material (wouldn't mind at all though) but it deserves at least top 5, preferrably top 3. Keep up sending great songs like these, :fr: !

10 points.

The rise of Switzerland, coupled with the last comments here saying the song is just meh, coupled with the constant attempt of some fans on X to bury and put down France when comparing to Switzerland, especially after Zoe jury show performance (by constantly trying to put down Louane who has the other french ballad), is so discouraging, especially after all the efforts our delegation has made this year (and I was one of those who was very critical of them but we can acknowledge they're putting real effort into trying to do well). We don't even have the full performance yet so can you please at least keep up the illusion before the final please ? I want us to win so badly after 48 years so the slightest criticism that puts Louane down became hurtful.

Voyage and mamam are two ballads sung in French, this is where the similarity starts and finishes. They are different songs and they will not necessarily cannibalise each other. 2 songs in genre competition don't normally cannibalise each other anyway, it's only once a 3rd 4th 5th etc has been added to the mix.

I felt this fitted in with the Eastern European ballads, so it could get votes from there. Not that much melody but a very serious and determined kind of sound. Didn't do much for me before and still doesn't.

That staging and that performance tonight were breathtaking. What a great artist she is! I absolutely loved the staging also.

I guess the negative critics about the staging are part of the game for France. It's definitely a risk taken by the french delegation to go with such a concept. This risk, singing on the sand, especially at the end and mixed with the message of the song, could be really rewarded by the juries and be considered as a a differentiating factor compared to other jury songs. Now televote wise, while some people could feel distracted by the performance, this could also win over some part of the audience too, and enough to convince them to vote. I'm in between. I feel like some parts in the first half of the performance seems a bit odd, but then the second part of the performance, especially the last minute gives me shivers and winning vibes.

I try to convince myself that it could get enough televotes to be in contention to win. At 170-180 televote would be great and probably the bar needed to be in contention for the victory, as i believe we won't have a winner over 500 points this year, or maybe barely passing the 500 points bar. Let's see what will happen. Running order is in France favor at least and the performance remains memorable. So televote will be the key.
