June 21: Semi 2 9pm Eastern
June 22: ESC'14 Marathon Day Semi 1: 4pm Eastern, Semi 2: 6:30pm Eastern, Final: 9pm Eastern

Yeah, I know. But for those who have no idea what the contest is all about, this is a great way to introduce them to everything Eurovision xacademic

I think it's dumb to put the show on that channel! Only gay people watch that one. How is that gonna introduce ESC to most people? Plus that channel is not free as far as I know.

Well, just finished (re-)watching SF1 of the Canadian broadcast, so here's a brief rundown of what happened...

The commentary was done by two guys, Adam Rollins and Tommy D. They knew a little about the participants, and they had a few funny bits. The only drawback is that they talked over many of the songs

There were commercials, but they did keep in the Eurovision Book of Records segments as well as the Wonderful Copenhagen bit with Pilou

The commentators liked :ua::se::nl: the most, they weren't very happy that :is: qualified, along with :az:. They were borderline with :ru:

Oooo I can't wait to hear if they liked Molly or not. Hopefully Airing ESC will become a tradition in Canada and not just a one nighter thing.

I hope Canada will catch on too, Ashley! Starting on a small channel like OUTtv is a good first step (our national public broadcaster CBC is an associate member of the EBU, however they were already committed to airing the NHL playoffs as well as the World Cup)

That being said, let's move on to the re-watch of SF2!

The commentators kept the habit of talking over the songs, but they did like quite a few...

:at: they were gaga over, I mean like they were head over heels for Conchita. They mostly kept silent during her song, the recap clips and the announcement of her qualification

:fi::pl::sl: they also liked (Poland because of you know why)

:ch: they liked, they thought Sebalter was adorable (someone has good taste!)

Weren't too friendly towards :by::gr: which all qualified. They were borderline on :mt: but gave them a pass, same with :ro: (liked Paula, didn't like the circular piano gimmick)

They totally nailed :il: and :ie: not qualifying (they said Mei's vocals and backup dancers were lacking, and Ireland's song was dull)

I will probably not be able to watch the final, with the length and the added commercials it would go to 1am. That being said, from the Big 5+1 via the preview clips, the only one they liked was :es: because they found Ruth very pretty

It´s very great that the contest are being broadcast in Canada despite you like Australia can´t compete. Let´s hope the national broadcaster CBC will air it in the future

CBC airing it would be very nice. I wonder how many people watched it on OUT TV? Can't be more than 100.
