The Finnish national final was indeed a highlight of the whole season - maybe the most competitive and well-executed national final of the whole year... when I hear comments such as "we have 4 winners in our national final" by Norway, I have to roll my eyes but this time, I really believe it when Finland says that they have come up with one of the strongest line-ups (don´t disappoint me now!)

I am so curious if Finland will send another rock/metal entry in 2023. Blind Channel did remarkably well and while The Rasmus didn't really score that high, they've been my personal "Rosa Linn" this year, been jamming to Jezebel since its release and I still don't get tired of it. And since rock songs aren't that often at the ESC, I am always glad when some countries fill the void; Finland just so happens to be exceptional at rock music

YLE's UMK music journalist Katri Norrlinn, who was also one of the members of UMK-jury selection, has revealed some infos about UMK contestant at TikTok:

- Harry Potter is mentioned in one of the songs.
- One artist is whole new artist, who will publish his/her first song at UMK.
- This UMK year is going to be year of the bangers (lot of the songs are going to be party/bile songs).
- She also told, being UMK jury selection member has been tough in this year, because quality was outstanding.
