Y‘all haven’t been paying attention? As if Ukraine would let anyone take this away from them haha. They will do everything in oder to make it possible so yea, the BBC shouldn’t get too excited about the prospects of hosting the 2023 edition.

Good for them to be hopeful that everything will be fine in a couple months so they can start organising the host city and venue but... I don't think that's the smartest idea, considering the country might not exist in a year at worst, and be in financial ruin at best. Of course, anything might happen to any country in a year, but I think Sweden, Spain, UK or whatever has a bigger chance to consistently have the infrastructural and financial capabilities to host.

edit: I didn't follow that closely already back then, but I've read before that in 2017 it was also very hard for them to organize and other countries including sweden had to come help more than usual? Might be wrong though. Anyway, considering the situation is much worse now...

Would also be kinda messed up to spend so much money on a prestige event when it could help a lot of people that have been through the worst things imagineable. Let someone else host but Ukraine gets like creative control over everything and maybe even ukrainian hosts together with local ones. Would actually be really cool to see a shared event, to really show that countries can work together closely to overcome such devastation.

Not sure if this has already been posted somewhere and I wasted my time counting, but here's the imaginary results if you would remove Ukraine:

1. :es: 247+271=518
2. :uk: 285+213=498
3. :se: 269+222=491
4. :rs: 92+263=355
5. :it: 168+134=302
6. :md: 16+274=290
7. :gr: 164+68=232
8. :pt: 174+51=225
9. 46+178=224
10. :nl: 138+52=190
11. :pl: 52+120=172
12. :ee: 47+118=165
13. :lt: 43+107=150
14. :au: 130+4=134
15. :az: 104+4=108
16. :ch: 84+0=84
17. :ro: 13+70=83
18. :be: 66+7=73
19. :am: 41+29=70
20. :fi: 13+34=47
21. :cz: 38+7=45
22. :fr: 11+14=25
23. :is: 14+3=17
24. :de: 1+9=10

So the only position swaps are between Spain-UK and Iceland-France.

(Since the full results of :az: :ge: :me: :pl: :ro: :sm: have not been revealed, no 1 points have been given from these countries' juries/televotes since there are no 11th places to move up)
