Just tuned in to the Eurovoix concert - that was James Newman's first "live" performance of Embers right? Vocals were stronger than I was expecting.

Senhit's wasn't the strongest live vocal - waaaay too much vibrato.

Senhit giving me winner vibes xheat and her vocals were perfect
Hahahaha, I feel like we were listening to different performances. It wasn't awful by any means, but would say it was far from perfect. If she's going to have to do choreo, that excess vibrato is only going to get worse.

I still stan the queen though.

That was a real mess of a concert. Some artists didn't even perform their whole entries, while others performed 2-3 songs... Not to mention the cringe interviews with Mans and Dami and the hosts' guessing game... Also very heavy bias towards entries with :se: composers, only :ie: wasn't featured.

here you go sis ;)

She sounds okay actually, would be interesting to see her with full choreo, but nice to hear it full live with the actual backing track and not an awful dreary slow acoustic version.

Also, is that a little hint at what we might be hearing at Eurovision if Mr Rida can't travel to perform in Rotterdam - a 2:20 Senhit only version? I mean, there's no reason why she can't splice in her sung middle 8 from the other version of the song I guess ;)

I really think that most of those videos are quite unreliable for serious discussion, especially some entries like Azerbaijan had EXTREME voice editing, I almost felt personally offended that some of those are supposed to be "live", with excessive backing track, echo effects and autotuning. Out of the ones I heard, only Senhit, Roxen and Rafal dared to not have all these effects.

I expect Flo Rida to appear as a hologram doing his rap part meanwhile Senhit casually jumping into a huge aquarium filled with great white sharks xheat xheat xheat

Especially Vincent Bueno ... so short! He didn't have to take part if he peformed only a few seconds (that's what it felt like). Some songs I had the feeling that they didn't sing or that they edited parts of it.

Three minutes is short for a song, but with San Marino and Cyprus it feels really long. Three minutes of the same thing over and over again with no dynamic in it. Simplicity in music doesn't have to be bad all the time, but this just feels simple in a cheap way to me.

At least it helps us separating the wheat from the chaff. Some songs didn’t do the artist a favor; I just hope they‘ll be better in May.
