Sure this is no indicator because crappy underperforming team (bunch of people tired from sitting on benches) should not have another chance, play-off should be illegal.

True. With 24 Countries its too easy to qualify nowadays. I remember 2004 when qualified. That was really impressive...
I miss the good old Times with 16 Countries.
