Not having high hopes for Kerli, but it's awesome to have such a big name.
Imho Laura & Koit Toome will win the NF. Judging from the names I'm gonna have a lot of faves :D

Really tough to work out super final this year.There are some really strong female singers in there.Considering the names who didnt make it this should be a strong EL.
Bookies will make Kerli favourite i expect.

what a great lineup! i'm sad i wear* experiment didn't make it, but that must mean the people that did must have really good songs. i can't wait to hear them!

I can't wait to hear Kerli's song. 'Spirit Animal' is giving me hopes that the song is somewhat similar to Feral Hearts which i LOVE

Honestly, I don't like the idea of expanding to three semi-finals of 10. Maybe two semi-finals with 12 songs each or something like that, but definitely not 30 songs in the semis. Just two years ago we had an awful pre-selection, saved only by a good winner. Perhaps the new rules allowing foreign co-writers will increase the overall quality of entries, but I would not expand to three semi-finals just based on one or two good years.

As for Ivo Linna, from what I've gathered from an interview with pre-selection jury member Kaidi Klein, and interview with Mart Normet, Ivo Linna is there because he is Ivo Linna, and to increase diversity and... um.. inclusiveness I guess.

Also, from the interview with Normet, he suggested that all the final versions will be released at the same time (or in a short period of time), so I guess 12th December and the week leading up to it is when we'll hear most of the remaining semi-finalists. Going to be a quiet month until then.

True. Almost half of the songs this year are co-written with foreigners. Other than Elina and Laura, pretty much all the "big hot names" are in the list thanks to the rules change.

I'm all for Kerli. Even before hearing the songs I think she's the best choice. She's everything packed together. Vocals, productions, charisma, the big fanbase. And one VERY important factor is her visuals. Estonian visuals pretty much always look tragic, but Kerli has always everything so well thought out.

But I have a very bad feeling Kerli will not win this. Laura and Koit seems to be the perfect combination. Estonians love duets. And both of them are beloved. I guess the song is great as well, considering it made its way to the 20 while many big and professional names were left out. It will probably win and poor Kerli will end up 2nd.

Further looking at the artists/composers list - there seems to be a few hidden gems here.

I am really interested in Laura Prits - "Hey Kiddo" Autorid: Tara Nabavi, Laura Prits, Andres Kõpper

Laura Prits is the frontwoman of Ziggy Wild a in your face retro rock band

Andres Kõpper is NOEP also known in Eesti Laul for taking part with his band Tenfold Rabbit twice.

I do not know much about Tara Nabavi. Apparently she is a Swedish singer who has 1 music video that seems to indicate that she is not exactly your average Swedish cheese.


How good do I expect the song to be? 4/5
How well will it do in Eesti Laul - could qualify, but not a contender for the victory

What do those 3 have in common other than looking identical? (#conspiracy) They have Gustaf Svenungsson and Magnus Wallin behind their songs.

So it is rather likely that Liis Lemsalu will have similar uptempo cheese as "don't stop" or "faller"

How good do I expect the song to be? 1,5/5
How well will it do in Eesti Laul - will probably qualify, don't think it will make it to the top half in the final though.

One of the composers of Liis' song was also among the composers of :ee: 2013, which is one of the best songs ever, so I don't think Liis' song can be bad.

I agree,and there is also the fact that Liis is a superb singer.People dont credit her much for that thinking shes fluff.Her performance of Sunflowers on Sing my Song shows how good she is and she can hold her own in this lineup.The writers are perfect for her.Mihkel Mattise knows how to produce an EL winner for a female vocalist.Gustaf Svenungsson and Magnus Wallin are also perfect writers for her.ISA,s Dont Stop was a cracking pop song with hook after hook.There is no doubt they will of picked her out as able to carry a similar energetic song and performance.
Im not saying Liis is winning of course,but i am saying Kerli doesnt have this to herself at all.There are better writers here than Kerli (and her writers),better singers,and also more household names who with great songs could easily beat Kerli in that televote super final.eerik already mentioned the televote magnets.
Sum up,we can look forward to a fantastic EL,and the winner will have to be very strong i think.
