ESC UNITED FORUM RANKING GAME 2021 - VOTING IS OVER!

Yes, that's right! Your favourite forum game is back for yet another edition in 2021, and it all starts with Israel's song tomorrow!

The rules will remain much the same as they always have, but there's an important change - from this year's game, #YOU will be able to change your points as new songs are announced, and each Eurovision entry become immediately eligible once it is confirmed for Rotterdam!

Full details of the rules can be found below, PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU READ THE RULES BEFORE PARTICIPATING.

RULES OF THE RANKING GAME
1. Please vote for your favourite songs using the standard Eurovision points system (12 - 10 - 8 - 7 - 6 - 5 - 4 - 3 - 2 - 1). In any rounds with less than 10 eligible songs, omit the lowest points as necessary. If you are using flags in your post then you must also clearly state the name of the country and ensure the correct flag is used to avoid confusion or errors. Any incomplete set of votes will not be counted, even in part.

2. Please post your votes in this thread publicly. ONLY votes that are posted in this thread will count towards the weekly results. Therefore, only registered forum members may vote in the game.

3. IF YOU LIVE IN A COMPETING COUNTRY, YOU CANNOT VOTE FOR YOUR OWN COUNTRY! We will verify your IP and none of your points will be counted if you fail to submit a valid set of points. If your country is one of the first eleven countries to reveal their entry, please omit the lower points as appropriate.

4. When posting your votes you must CLEARLY indicate which country you are voting from. We will not count your votes if you fail to do so.

5. Each round lasts 7 days. The round deadlines are every Saturday at 23:59 CET. A reset of votes will occur at this point, so you must post your votes once more to count for the following round. The weekly result will be posted each Sunday.

6. In a change for 2021, and to reflect the unpredictable nature of countries revealing their entries, songs will immediately become eligible for voting once they are confirmed for Eurovision 2021. Eligible entries will be updated live in the first post.

7. Should you need to change your votes to reflect new entries in any given round, please re-post them and clearly mark *AMENDED VOTES* at the top of your post. Failure to do so will result in your changed votes not being counted.

8. We will check every single vote to ensure that they are legitimate and keep cheating to a minimum. However we reserve the right to not count your votes - without warning - in the weekly total if we feel they're fraudulent. Please make sure your votes are accurate and eligible before submitting.

9. Only one vote per IP address. Yes, you may have a friend or relative who is voting from the same household but it is impossible for us to verify that, therefore we have no other choice but to enforce this rule.

10. Only the votes posted publicly in this topic will be counted.

I’m having a hard time understanding the sudden increase in new members giving so many points to the Netherlands. Maybe they genuinely love the song and it’s just a coincidence that they’ve all arrived in such a short time frame. But it’s strange.

Well, I think we are a few members who are quite new here. I didn't know about this forum until a few weeks ago. Maybe others are like me?

I personally like the song a lot. Didn't give it 12 points, but it's in my top. Maybe it's just growing on people like I sense the Danish song is too? (That last statement was maybe just me dreaming, lol)

That’s totally plausible, and maybe I’ll just have to suck it up lol. Before very recently the Netherlands was rarely mentioned unless it included the word broccoli , so it’s just surprising to see it suddenly in the top 10 of so many new members.

Anyway, I’m glad people like these songs (Denmark included). Makes the game more unpredictable.

Maybe the fans of Jeangu just suddenly somehow found their way here? But it sure is a bit strange these votes come from so many different countries, would be more understandable if it was just a large fan base from Suriname mobilizing, or something like that.

However, I have to say the sudden increase in votes for the NL was what brought me finally here as well: after watching the last results video I realized I should go to give my vote too once it actually may make a difference.

EDIT: I like the song a lot actually, because of the world music elements and the touching lyrics.

I'm new here, I'm a Dutch guy living in Spain so I will not vote for these two countries. I have a hard time to find these country flags, so I just put the names of the countries if that is ok, it is not that easy to vote as Matt says in the YouTube video, but here we go thank you.
