Voting is now closed, and the Californian entry is being sent in as we speak! Thank you so, so much to everyone who voted; y'all are wonderful
I voted for four songs, and one of them won, while another came second and will be the backup entry! I'm so thrilled to be sending this song but am also, I will admit, a little bit nervous since it's so dear. It was a joy to have y'all's input and see the effects that the songs had on y'all. Thank you again
(The final results are the ones in the post above - 2 points doesn't quite live up to the half-point squeaker in the Kaliopi NF, but it was still a close fight!)

So I come back to my greenroom to find all these wonderful messages from y'all. Thank you all so, so much. I can't believe REM and "The Great Beyond" got this close; I was expecting my first honest-to-goodness megaflop. Thank you especially to RainyWoods, revallsay, esc87fan, Ringdalen, and Lupus, who've voted for every single one of my entries for which they could have voted. And thank you to everyone who wasn't fond of the entry but bore with as I went with something that was extremely special to me.
As to 54, there will be a national final up very soon! It's the first time I'm letting y'all pick both the song and the artist that I shall be sending. 3 languages (sort of four) and everything musically from an old showtune to not one but two pieces of slutpop (albeit one parody of the genre)!
