I think for the first time ever BNT confirmed next year's participation right after (or even before) current contest. The bad news however is there are no signs for actual NF in the near future.

How is that bad news? Bulgaria did great with their internal selections so far. NFs can be total trash tbh

True, but it's getting pretty boring as literally nothing (expect some hints) happens until mid March, when they just spill out the song and the artist. No details on selection process, whatsoever. The 2017 selection involved 6 songs, no details were revealed even to this date, which those songs were or how the voting process went or what juries were involved. Some of the participating artists (like Gery-Nikol) mentioned that they received a call from BNT, that just told them they are out of competition, and that's all, no details, no explanation, no nothing.

Considering that Bulgaria stepped up its game and found a process working for them, I don't think it's really "bad news"...

I always hope for chalga, but with juries currently onboard that detest anything that is fun, uptempo or local, that will never be...

BNT said on Twitter that they plan to send something completely different in 2018. A catchy radio-friendly pop song.
