A Monster Like Me. Our best entry ever, I absolutely adore it and I’m so grateful that the juries saved us a decent placing that year. I think 7th or 8th place was the best we could’ve hoped for that year. Staging could’ve been more interesting for sure and the harmonies perhaps better, but it was still beautiful. And Debrah looked amazing xlove

Worst:

That’s How You Write A Song. God no, this one wasn’t for me

Tumblr, mostly.
I developed a rash by seeing Wind in someone's top three. "Für Alle"s insincere, falsetto-driven, fucking sanctimonious (and borderline paedophiliac? "für die Sehnsucht die in Kinderaugen steht" :brr: ) schmaltz is one of the worst five Eurovision entries, probably.

I was going to compliment Ezio for righteously crowning the very overlooked flower-power mastodont "FALTER IM WIND" as an anthem of greatness but the omission of Schmetterlinge and the inclusion of "Y asì" on the shitlist cancelled it out lol. :(

Anyway

Best:
:be: 1987 Soldiers of Love

:be: 2017 City Lights

Worst:
:be: 2014 Mother
:be: 1985 Laat me nu gaan
:be: 2000 Envie de vivre

Really?! I don't speak German at all so I wouldn't have known about that, I would have just liked the tune!

Tbh for me the best entry from The Netherlands was Waylons Outlaw in 'Em. Maybe not his performance on ESC, that staging was just really bad. But the song was strong and his voice is beyond incredible. His vocal performance in the show where he performed in The Netherlands was just too good for Eurovision. Different level.

Furthermore, I think Anouks Birds was a pure quality song. She is known in The Netherlands as an honest and strong character who sings mostly rock-ish songs. So that song was quite a surprise as well. Worst entry? Well, too much. Sieneke or The Toppers.

Because it‘s completely BS! As a German I can assure you there‘s nothing like that in the lyrics. Maybe Mr. Bubbles‘ knowledge in German is not as good as he may think. ;)

And yes, Wind is Schlager. But I love it. Why not. We all have different taste. Some may say it‘s „schmaltzy“ but it’s not. It‘s about hope. A song for everyone who is in need, who is optimistic enough to see the „light at the end of the tunnel“, an anthem to hold on, to overcome sadness.
We could all need a song „for everyone“ (that‘s what Für alle means) these days.

The Neds:

Best:
:nl: Duncan Laurence - Arcade
:nl: Anouk - Birds
:nl: The Common Linnets - Calm After The Storm

Worst:
:nl: De Toppers - Shine
:nl: Treble - Amambanda
:nl: Sieneke - Ik Ben Verliefd

Anouk still stands as one of the most underrated songs in ESC. That should have finished top 3 in my opinion. The Toppers should have finished dead last. It's quite an achievement and I still would like to have a word with the Albanian jury who gave it 10 whopping points.

Best:
2009, Gipsy.cz - Aven Romale
(since our re-joining the contest: 2018 Mikolas Josef - Lie To Me)

Worst:

2008, Tereza Kerndlová - Have Some Fun
(2017, Martina Bárta - My Turn or the studio version of 2019, Lake Malawi - Friend of a Friend)

in general, we've been sending rather middle-of-the-road songs - not terrible but not that great either
