Despite a couple of tough losses for our curling teams, Canada's women's hockey team steamrolled Sweden 11-0 to advance to the semifinals - they await the winner of Switzerland vs. ROC

Eh Norway is gonna run away in the medal table tomorrow. It’s not unlikely that we won’t get a single medal tomorrow.
Our only chance to stay on their heels is the skeleton women getting the gold later today. Fingers crossed.

Edit: Nevermind Lindvik won gold so yea, Norway should now head into the second week with 2 or even 3 gold in front.

Good afternoon for :de: :D

Geiger won Bronze in Ski jumping which is a massive achievement after he struggled so much so far in Beijing. He finally proved he's got winner mentality. Great success!
In the ski-jumping team event on Monday we are a good contender for the medals. It is an open fight for Gold. Slovenia is probably my favorite to win it as they've got the most balanced team atm. The Austrian are pretty dangerous too, especially if Kraft doesn't slip as he did in the first heat today. In the training sessions, qualification and second heat he was always among the best on this hill.

Moreover Neise won Gold in Skeleton. We won 6/6 in the ice channel track so far. We can easily win some Gold medals in the Bob competitions, except from the Monobob event in which the Americans usually do better.

The Medal Table has been tight so far but now it looks like  and :de: pulled clear of the other countries, just like in 2018.

However I agree with GermanBango that Norway is gonna become the Number One pretty soon. In order to be the Number One in the end, we gotta beat them in some of their top disciplines... Nordic Combined team event would be a good chance. Maybe another shock gold in Biathlon or maybe Gold in ski jumping team event.. there is a chance but it doesn't seem to be realistic to me.

Not much on the Canada front right now, the women's hockey team will play Switzerland in the semifinal - in the last meeting between the two teams the Canadians hammered them 12-1

Well at least we got the bronze in the ski jumping team event. Tomorrow could be a really strong day for German athletes:
- Kira Weidle was second in both downhill test runs so a medal is definitely possible here
- The German biathlon guys have a shot at a medal in the relay ... it`s gonna be hard but not impossible (probably gonna be a fight of 5 nations)
- In the Nordic Combined a medal is always possible
- annnnd last but not least we have a shot at all three medals in the two-men-bobsleigh event (Germans on 1, 2 and 4 after two runs)

I really look forward to tomorrow xyes :D

And I am very satisfied with our ski jumpers. They aren't in their best condition (they had their form peak in December I guess) and they spent most of the competition today on the 4th place but they never gave up and kept their nerves.

How ironic that Lindvik of all jumpers messed it up for Norway today with two weak jumps. Norway would probably have won gold if Lindvik performed as he did in the single competition.

Looking into Lindviks face after the result appeared you would not believe he got Olympic champion a few days ago... he was really devastated. Joy and sorrow lie close together

Fun Fact: Since women's hockey was added to the program for the 1998 Games in Nagano, Canada has been in every gold medal final. And in all but one instance, their opponent has been the US - the only exception was Turin 2006 when their opponent was Sweden
